TOS say Diaz trying to get Cager back

LMAO I don't buy this for one second.

Cager, on a per-snap basis, may be one of the least productive Canes receivers in history.

Manny is looking for dogs and Cager is a goldfish at best.

Wrong. Remember Sam Shields? Lance Leggett? Ryan Moore? All dropped passes at a higher rate. **** even Hankerson dropped more before he worked with Duper.

Cager isn't going to make or break us but dude has a high percentage of TD to reception rate so I wouldn't call him the least productive receiver in Cane history.

Lance Leggett and Ryan Moore both got worse, if anything, over time. Sam Shields was so bad as a receiver that HE DOESN'T PLAY RECEIVER.

This is the most idiotic response I may have ever received on CIS.

So a guy who was so bad at WR that they moved him to defense is more productive than Cager? Lmao Just let go of the blind hate fam. It's not good for you.

I thought that was why some of the guys wanted to transfer. You may be right, but for some reason that stuck w me when JT left and pope wanted out

He worked his *** off to come back from a knee injury. I believe he played a lot because he grasped what we were trying to do on offense, which admittedly sucked. Maybe the new regime wants a large body receiver and thinks he still has some potential. Either way, I'm getting the sense that this will be a meritocracy for playing time. My guess is they looked at Jeff Thomas similarly and thought that the reasons he left might not translate to what they're trying to do here now. Could be the same for Cager.

WTF? That's the example you used, to defend giving Cager a chance, and you're coming at me for it?

But since you want to discuss productivity... who's more productive:

Shields 971 career rec yards, 7 TD's.

Cager 681 career rec yards, 10 TD's.

Both played three seasons. You are a spectacular moron.

"Hankerson enjoyed a breakout season in 2009, leading UM in every single important receiving category (45 receptions, 801 yards, 17.8 average, 6 TDs.) That was a huge improvement over his freshman and sophomore seasons when Hankerson was known primarily for dropping the ball and combined for only 17 catches for 203 yards and 3 TDs."

I don't think you lose anything by letting the new WR coach work with Cager. Maybe he can figure it out like Hank did.

Cager lost time due to his knee injury. It took him a while coming off that. I'm not a huge Cager fan at all but he made plays at times in a garbage system. If he comes back, I'm fine with it and I'm sure he will give us something in a better system. If not, Miami will be fine without him.

You lose attention on the younger guys with more potential.

The odds are very clear that Cager will never be a productive receiver. He might. MIGHT. It's not worth the risk or effort at this point.

I am fine with it. Diaz and Enos do not seem like the guys who play favoritism. You earn your play no matter what year you are. In this case, I expect Cager to be used sparingly if he stays but not a primary set guy. Red zone only.

Best Miami teams were built on exactly that, and a strong locker room culture.

Don't play favorites. May the best guy win. But when you have a strong locker room, usually the best guy is the upperclassman, because he was taught by the guys before him. Need to get back to that.

I agree if it’s a clean slate... previous staff obviously played favorites. I disagree from a scholarship standpoint. Could use the spot more efficiently elsewhere.

For the record, the other site also said that when contacted about this rumor, Cager said no he wasn't coming back. Who knows. UGA has a thread about him on their board - they are trying to get him to visit. Seems like they have a decent amount of interest. I think he is also taking a visit to Oregon.

Who had the better Jr year? Rs Jr Cager or Jr Hurns.
He didn’t start. Cager wouldn’t have either if Richards were healthy. He did all his work against savanah st, Toledo and FIU. He had 6 catches the last 6 games. You would think with Jeff Thomas out the last two games he would’ve stepped up but I didn’t even know he was on the field. Quite honestly Cager is trash. Hurns has 10 millions to laugh at you and peasants like Cager who aren’t worthy enough to carry his pads.

I saw the title and that’s what it said I didn’t have the info. But then again look who it’s coming from so there’s a high probability it isn’t true. If that’s the case, that is great for us.
