TOS report on RJ and Kendrick

If both come back they fix the depth at DT and DE. They could move willis to sde with d.jack and stil have 5 guys to rotate at DT. Willis can kick inside on 3rd downs.

In the interest of keeping Joe Jackson here in 2019, I'd like to see four seniors starting at DL.

DE Djax
DT McIntosh
DT Norton
DE Willis

J. Jackson, Garvin, Silvera, Bethel, Ford, Patchan off the bench....

I don't think Joe Jackson would like that very much.

No. Joe better than d.jack. you dont put one of your best players on the bench for no reason.

IF we get these dudes back, there is no excuse not to be in the playoff next year. We will have a true signal caller. I have no doubt about that. IDK who it will be but one of these guys will be that dude.

A true signal caller? Based on that comment I'm going to assume that you don't think Rosier will retain the job which means that you are banking this on someone who has never thrown a college football pass.

Part 1 of changing the culture is convincing kids like this to think about the program and themselves at least equally. Part 2 is selling them on a plan to get them both paid more money after another season, then delivering.

If these boys come back, we definitely fuggin' next year.

Part 1 is completely laughable. Sounds very romantic, but unrealistic.

What employee, let alone one that works for free, thinks about themselves and the company they work for on equal terms?

If another company offered you more money to come work for them, would you stick it out for another year cause it’s what’s best for the company?

This notion that kids should care about the program above all else is insane to me. I’m sure most do care about the U and forever will. But when it’s time to get paid, they’re gonna do what any other person would do.
I don't know, Sonny Michel and Nick Chubb? Multiple Alabama DL the past 3 seasons? It happens all the time in college football. You may not like that fact because it hasn't been the case at our program, but those are the facts everywhere. Otherwise as you're suggesting every half decent eligible underclassmen was simply just go to the NFL. But that doesn't happen.

Rack your brain and ask yourself, “what is different at big time, highly funded, donor-rich SEC schools...and how are they different from Miami?”

At Miami, the program has been begging donors for the last six months to get the last $700,000 to finish out the inside of the IPF and still isn’t there yet. Begging.

Alabama, Georgia etc make staying that extra senior year a lot more comfortable, if you get my meaning .

Don’t kid yourselves.

They recruit on the front end and on the back end with a weapon we don’t have and wil never have, loyal, anonymous behind-the-scenes shadow boosters that get the job done and the funds disbursed.

Yup. I’m banking on the red shirt freshman quarterback that is on the roster to follow in the footsteps of many other red shirt freshmen that have had tremendous success. If he is as advertised, nothing more, we have enough. We will be deeper at WR, TE, RB. IM Also confident we will be much better on OL.

Also, this whole narrative about questioning any new QB that has never played is becoming overplayed. The ideal system is to have a QB redshirt, and then play. Whether Perry has thrown a pass or not shouldn't be this huge question mark. Hes either better than Malik or not. Not having thrown a pass in a game wont be a factor in that analysis. The times have changed and even true freshman QBS are succeeding. Back to back playoffs with one. Yes, I know Hurts isn't very good and has a lot around him, but Perry will be better than Hurts, and will also have a ton around him. Redshirting and taking over is becoming the natural progression of QBs.

Lol at some of the porsters in the other thread claiming Nesta will be a starter by the end of next season even if Norton and RJ return. Have these people lost their minds?

The next guy is always better

I remember when that was actually true at The U.

This is the type of message board hype that leads to people turning on Nesta with the quickness. If he doesn't start a game next year, that will be a great thing. If he doesn't crack the 2 deep it will be amazing. He will have his chance. That position to me is the hardest to play well at as a true Frosh. Dexter Lawrence is an anomaly. But when Nesta doesn't start, not because he isn't good but because there will be developed studs ahead of him, people will be upset and start to question him. Nesta as a true Frosh wont be better than Willis, Mac, Nort or even Ford in their current years. Now, Nesta as a Senior? Well yes, that Nesta will be better than Seniors Willis, MAc and Nort.

It's a solid strategy for keeping J. Jackson from turning pro early.

Of course, if implemented, he would probably just get mad and transfer. So...

Keep one of the best players on the bench so he doesn't leave early?? This board sometimes.....don't you want to win?

Willis isn’t a d end, so stop. And you don’t sit a better player who should be and deserves to be starting to keep him here another year. Some moronic things are said on this board sometimes. That’s a quick way to have disgruntled unhappy players.

Retarded with a capital R. Let’s keep one of the best players on the team on the bench so he doesn’t declare early. This is next level imbecilic.

He would still go pro. Yall be saying some dumb shît.

No way Willis starts over J. Jackson at DE. G all the way the FOH. Given Willis' flaky nature and amoeba body along our line he can play the Trent Harris role in 2018 and allow Garvin to back up either Djax or J. Jackson.
