Would have been nice to land a stud DT and one more OL, hopefully 2017 will overcome that. My only real regret about this class is losing Byrd, playmaker at a desperate position of need.
Too add we wont win with a team of tier 2 SoFl kids we need to get elite kids
We don't need a team of them but we need depth. We are short at wide receiver and corner, which are the two most plentiful and battle-tested positions in the region.
We need to have depth with stud players, look at the elite teams they are stacked, **** look at the legendary canes teams there werent any tier 2 kids, we kept stacking over and over again with studs, FSU today loaded up nasty with talent look at that bench, look at bama, LSU, OSU, clemson, we need to be like those teams to win
Miami won a national title in 1991 with Eric Miller and Anthony Hamlet as it starting defensive tackles. Think about that a second. Lubick was smart enough to figure out how to get the two defensive ends and the Bermuda Triangle to cover for them. We'll get there. But coaching matters.
That 91 team was stacked everywhere else though, we cant win with tier 2 kids mane, look at the 2000s teams, the 80s teams, now lets look at the top teams now, we need to match talent with talent

I don't disagree, but right now coaching matters most. This should have been a 10-win team last year.
I think the '17 class should be very good. Even Shannon and Golden had good classes in their first full cycle, even though Golden's was propped up by the size of the class. Richt should be no different and have the bump in his first full cycle. It's Richt's 2nd full cycle that will determine how he will ultimately do here. You can't compete at the highest level with one great class, you have to stack top notch classes year after year.
Shannon's '09 and Golden's '13 classes were pretty much disasters outside of a handful of very good players like Coley, Burns, Elder, Miller, and Vernon. You can't just whiff on basically a whole class and both did in their 2nd full cycle. As great as Meyer's '06 class was look at his '07 class as well. Look at Saban in '08 and '09.
We need to stack and stack top notch talent in '17 and '18.

Shannon 09's class was very good in terms of NFL talent go look at the guys from that class again.
