Thoughts on the class

overall this class is a big failure
the biggest areas of need were not addressed and they failed miserably
yes we loaded up on skill positions but we cant play with 4 rbs at the same time
we don't even let our only 5 star even see the field
don't let the overall ranking fool you, this class will come back to haunt us in 3-4 years when our oline depth will cont to be subpar

I'm over recruiting tbh. We've had more than enough talent to compete for too long.

Manny needs to wake tf up and improve the on the field product by FIRING his coordinators.

I wonder how a stat geek like him can look at the Top 20 offenses in College football and the kind of schemes they run and think "I want to to do the complete opposite of that."

Quality is different in those classes though compared to Miami which is why recruiting rankings don’t always tell the story. Still pretty good classes for unc and ga tech.

it’s not a big failure, it’s just incomplete as it stands right now. You can’t sh*t on the whole class like that because you mad about some misses or haven’t completely recruited a position group yet, that’s not fair to the kids who did sign to play for Miami today.

in regards to oline
when you factor in Cleveland reed coming back, Jalen rivers and then Chris Washington plus late signing period and possibly transfer portal maybe that gets solidified.

1. we arent a top 25 team.
2. we're recruiting better than we should given the trainwreck we just had.
3. the class is nice and didnt take too much fluff that wont play, but just hasnt filled needs yet. we have 6 spots to go so they (esp butch barry and the d staff) better go out and find ways to get quality depth at CB and LB and find bodies for the OL

i do like the kids we took and took a lot of high talents imo. its just incomplete as it is.

You are much more level headed than I am hahaha
The oline recruiting is such a big miss it clouds my judgement on the rest of the class
Just think in the last 2 years we had Evan Neal , dumervil, and walker in our back yard and we end up with none
Even one of those paired with rivers would have us looking good for the future

There isn’t a lot of fat. We have a positive blue-chip ratio of 11 four-stars and 8 three-stars. The class average (89.91) is one of our best in the past 15 years, second only to 2018. These are good players joining the program.

Two things will make or break this class. The first is Tyler Van Dyke. We don’t know what we have at QB until he’s on the field with live bullets. But the tools are all there. More than anything, he needs to be a no-maintenance leader. We’ve had too few of those at the QB position. If he's the real deal, this class will look a lot different.

The second is character. The guys that sign with us always seem like high-character kids, and the kids that don’t are always drama queens. Somehow, that perception changes by the time the recruits become college seniors. Right now, the reports are glowing. Guys like Chaney, Restrepo, Rivers, Chantz, Redding, Austin-Cave and others have impeccable reputations. Let’s hope they bring that attitude to Greentree this spring.

The staff deserves any heat they get. They were played by obvious trolls and botched OL and DB recruiting. But let’s take a moment to appreciate the kids who signed here. Watch their film, share their NSD pictures and welcome them to the family on social media. Maybe one day they will be part of the solution.

Here here! We got some straight up ballers that came to this U. Thank you to the recruits who signed with this less than stellar coaching staff. Let's take the time to appreciate the ones who signed, the ones who are truly invested in this University. Can't wait to see these kids play. Hopefully they can be developed and bring back some respect to this once great U.

People keep saying there is no “fluff” in this class.

How do you KNOW there’s no fluff?

First, the class hadn’t finished yet. Manny might just grab another Nigel Bethel or Asa Martin late in the game.

Second, you don’t know which of these kids will flame out in college. Miami fans always overestimate the kids that commit to us.

asa was a portal grab and by recruiting ranking, was a top recruit. also, you dont know either so why are assuming this class isnt a top 25 class before they even took a step on the field. they could all pan out, they could all stink, or could be average. we wont know till the next two years really. did we fill our holes in the ESD? no. they have some time to help bridge the gap and there are still kids out there that can help.

Great RB haul, the only WR I like is Redding, solid TE in Mammarelli & TVD is talented but Enox's offense is garbage so there's the great neutralizer.

I love Tirek Austin-Cave, Quentin Williams, Elijah Roberts & Jalen Harrell on Defense, great pieces who should be contributors eventually.

Marcus Clarke is good prospect with upside, but will need a few years of development, we needed a playable day 1 CB in this class & we failed at bringing one in. Better hope Bandy doesn't declare.

I like Jalen Harrell & Brian Balom for the Safety haul, not sold on Washington. Could've used a ballhawk in this group as well, but *shrugs*...

Tirek Austin-Cave aside from Don Chaney is my favorite recruit in this class, thank God he's an EE, him, Sam Brooks & Huff will be a fun, fast, athletic & green group for the LB corps... That is of course if Diaz, Baker & Patke aren't stupid enough to have the 3 of them standing on the bench behind slower & maxed out guys like McCloud & Jennings, which they probably will lol.

Roberts, (hopefully) Moise & Quentin Williams will be great depth adds to an already strong DL. Not high on Chantz like everybody else is, but he's at least talented.

Rivers is a very good prospect, future RT imo, unfortunately, he'll be coached by arguably the worst Corch on staff in Botch Berry, so who knows how he's developed. Same with Chris Washington, high upside, good promising prospect, terrible coach teaching him, so there's no telling if he ever reaches his ceiling here.

Chaney is a future NFL caliber back imo, the best RB we've landed since Duke, I'm certain Enox will have him standing on the sideline all year long. But glad we got him. Knighton reminds me Lamichael James, great talent.

Restrepo, the people's champ. Good slot WR, will be the board's favorite player. Redding imo has Jeremy Maclin at Mizzou type upside, however in this offense will probably be underutilized, unfortunate.

Overall, solid class, some good prospects, a bunch of misses & didn't address our glaring depth issues at multiple spots. Hit the portal & pray.

Enox, Barry, Patke, Baker & at least two more need to be fired, none will, Manny's clock is ticking.

What about Rumph and Banda, they should be fired as well.

Having a highly ranked class makes the odds better. Alabama has fluff in their class as well. Difference is, they’ll just kick the fluff off the team in a year and replace them with more 5-stars.

leaving early is a get the bags problem miami seems to have. the kids dont listen to anyone but the agents when they make those decisions (JT is 1 this year, Garvin is 2).
