This was up there on the Canes Mt. Rushmore of ****

There is only way out of this. The Miami Herald needs to expose the incompetence of the BOT. Show the world how much of a dumpster fire the school has become with Frenk at the helm and James as AD. Shine a light on the rampant nepotism like letting the previous head coach, Mark Richt, hire his unqualified son to be QB coach (which was expressly banned at other schools). Encouraging the AD to hire the son of one of the biggest donors as the baseball coach. After a 1 day coaching search, hiring the unqualified son of a well-connected former mayor. Destroying the Orange Bowl. Playing games with Butch Davis's contract. Ridiculous contract extensions to other coaches. The list goes on and on. Then look at the financial and academic incompetence. Accepting money from criminals. Dropping out of the top 50 schools. Tuition 8x higher than comparable public schools.

We can't replace the BOT, but we can hope they are shamed into action once the public becomes aware of how far the school has fallen. That's the only chance that Miami has of ever getting back on track.

Miami is not a poor school. It has an endowment larger than Clemson, FSU, Auburn, and LSU by nearly $400 million. The "we don't have money" is a sob story to cover up the BOT's cheapness, but I'm sure they have no problem spending tens of thousands on trips and catered lunches. Its just a vanity project for rich people to say they are on the BOT, but they have no real love for the University. It's a **** shame.

Painful to admit but it almost appears Mandy Golden looks less qualified than Randy Shannon was when he was hired. Another DC hired from the prior staff who failed.

Amazing we keep repeating the same mistakes. We tried hiring the DC from a failed regime before. We tried hiring a coach from Temple. These morons at the top went and one upped themselves by do both of those at the same time. You can't make this **** up. Worst ran program in country.

I am 100% for this but I wanted to comment on the part in bold.

Our football program was a dumpster fire via the self-inflicted cancer approach and that began way before Frenk got here.

If we escape both Virginias and go 4-2 this last game that we won but also lost will be forgotten.
This is truth and the problem with giving everyone and their mother a platform to speak their opinion. The minute something happens someone doesn't like you get this garbage.

Canes1968 .
Each Miami team, at the start of the season, has to create their OWN culture. Not luxuriate, vicariously, with past culture of past teams.
Name the players that have stepped up for our current team?. I cannot. That is our first challenge.
No identity. No Leadership.

No, Manny needs to establish a culture, recruit to that culture and demand that his players adhere to it. It should be a consistent culture year after year after year. That’s exactly what the great coaches are best at doing. That’s exactly what Saban and Dabo do. They demand excellence every day in every area of the program.

Took this ***** 4 games to flip on the staff.
Nobody knows how this will pan out.
We are forced to play a left tackle that was 240 pounds 5 months ago and dumbass fans think we are just going to dominate.
Give the staff a couple years and then judge.
This rat bytched to the mods last time I beat him down, and I caught a warning. Now, he’s in my thread uninvited thinking I’m his dad calling me a pvssy.

We gonna let this go, mods? Is he gonna cry again and get me a shot from the mods?

This last part is interesting, and I have never really thought of it before, but it is really absurd how small of a percent of the BoT actually went to UM either for undergrad or grad school. I don’t know what the makeup is at schools around the country, but I would bet a large sum of money that we are one of the few schools in the country with that situation.

If we go 10-2 and play Clemson in the ACC championship game of course all will be forgiven, but not forgotten. Unfortunately, that narrative makes no sense at this point with too many issues to isolate to a couple marginal things. When there are that many issues, AGAIN, the issues are SYSTEMIC and SYSTEMIC issues reside with the guy in charge.

There are signs where there are signs. You probably would have been happy ignoring the signs back during Coker's tenure where a mongoloid could have kept that monster going and the gradual mediocre performances piled up into being an average program by the time he was done.

You could even see the signs on our loaded teams that Coker was not the long term guy. You can see signs now when we play teams we clearly out talent and either lose to or battle with to the end of the game. Yesterday simply means the honeymoon is over for Diaz. And he has almost too much to fix this year before even a moderately successful season can be possible.

Just 8 days ago, many on this forum including myself were somewhat encouraged by what we saw in the glorified scrimmage against B-CU. Last nights game was a monumental setback from what we saw last week. Even still, there are signs of life just four games in to the Diaz regime.

I suspect many in this forum didn't witness the ineptitude I did in the late 60's and 70's. Many here only know of the dominance we enjoyed in the 80's, 90's, and early 2000's. Even in the 2 decades we were "dominant", there were many losses that had us shaking our collective heads. Losses by coaches that eventually won National Championships.

It took around 5 decades to win our first National Championship. It's been **** near 2 decades since our last one. Four coaches later, and we're still looking to return to the "glory years" of the not so recent past.

It's taken almost 2 decades for us to get to the point we're at now. A return to national prominence won't happen in four games by a first year head coach. Is Manny the answer? I'm reserving judgement until I see more. Hopefully, I won't see more of what I saw last night.

This is a great post but I believe it is wishful thinking to assume that The Miami Herald does any actual reporting of the news.

Those wanting to put it all on the coaches, got a question.

Zion, our young *** left tackle, what kept him from putting his hands on the guy running by him to Jarren? You don't think coaches teach him that simple concept? What about our other OL getting run over?

Yes, there are coaching issues, but it isn't all on them or even close to it.

We are now saddled with Manny for another two more seasons after this one.

The real answer is to get Limp pickle James out of the decision-making circle.

lmao, culture talk. Cracks me up every time.

Those two examples get the best talent and those who don't make it get weeded out yearly.

It's not about the X's and O's, but the Jimmy's and Joe's. Coaching helps, but swap their players for ours and not one of you is saying culture today.

The product Miami is putting out there is as bottom of the barrel of the football bowl subdivision formerly Division 1-A as you could possibly get.

All this **** is on Diaz. Every bit.

The administration and BoT discussions are valid for macro takes on the matter...but as an isolated performance, it was 'demand a refund' and boo everyone off of the stage territory. I threw a tomato slice and kosher spear pickle at my television in hopes to get them yanked off the stage.

And those players that absolutely dogged it, embarrassing themselves like the kid that can't stop ****ting himself in the 3rd grade, they can get lawst, too. Was as pathetic a performance I saw from some players as you'll ever see. I hope some of these players lose money as a result of this game. This team has absolutely no pride in itself. None.

This program is almost two decades deep in the most self-neglectful, slothful, dilapidated, slovenly depression you'll ever see. And the school is just hopped up on ten mills of xanax everyday. Just a comatose self-loathing husk of resentment thats too much of a coward to pull the trigger.

When you hire a first time HC with a limited network. His experience was limited to small programs (NC State, Mississippi State, LA Tech), except Texas. Where he fired during the season.

Didn't Enos reach out to Manny? Didn't he interview Fedora, Seider? I don't completely but this notion... The coaching community isn't that big.

Only a dummy would say Jimmy's & Joe's are more important than coaching in a developmental sport like CFB. Last time I checked only the best coaches win yr after yr. Not only that but the best players are on teams that have the best coaching. Funny how that works. Thats what you call a bi-directional relationship..fyi
