This was up there on the Canes Mt. Rushmore of ****

Yeah, it was a **** show, but there’s plenty of blame to go around. At some point, these players need to stop sitting around waiting for a coach to make them great and take it upon themselves to become great. I see virtually none of that. Donaldson being exhibit A. He’s a fat slob who doesn’t appear to have ever stepped in a weight room or said no to 100 cheeseburger lunch.
And I could have pulled a few guys off the two high school teams I watched Friday night that probably wouldn't have let guys run wide open and hoped they dorpped the ball like those CM recievers with hands of stone did a half dozen times.

Once again the culture blows and it's Manny's job to fix it

FSU is a perfect example, clearly have tlanet on the team but the players are a bunch of pussies and Taggart enables it.

We have talented players clearly but they care more about posting their highlights after losses and dancing after beat CMU by 5. It's Manny's job to fix and we are waiting to see if he does

Oh well aware, but he would be an upgrade. Don't know why he didn't go after Petri.

Manny likely doesn’t know Petri. He made the mistake of hiring friends. Nothing in Todd Stroud’s resume suggests he can coach or recruit UM-caliber defensive linemen. Or, what should be a UM defensive lineman.

Petri coached with Baker at La Tech and IIRC was Manny's D line coach in 2015 at La Tech. He's also had two stints at Miami.

Okay, thanks for the correction. Maybe Petri was asked and didn’t want a third round in Coral Gables. Miami had a DL coach (Simpson) when Baker was hired. Maybe the timing was off.

Took this ***** 4 games to flip on the staff.
Nobody knows how this will pan out.
We are forced to play a left tackle that was 240 pounds 5 months ago and dumbass fans think we are just going to dominate.
Give the staff a couple years and then judge.
classic francheese. He will conveniently act as though he has always been a Diaz supporter if the team starts playing good

I wouldn’t say that. I think they are a victim of their culture, and until they get into a new one, they’ve got no shot. The culture at Miami can’t mirror the culture of SF prep sports. That’s a recipe for losing regardless of scheme, play calling, etc.

There are certainly positives about SF sports, but the proma donna, I can succeed on talent alone bull**** is bad.
Canes1968 .
Each Miami team, at the start of the season, has to create their OWN culture. Not luxuriate, vicariously, with past culture of past teams.
Name the players that have stepped up for our current team?. I cannot. That is our first challenge.
No identity. No Leadership.

It was not a total breakdown in every phase of the game. Jesus. Run defense was just fine. Given that that threw 50 times, pass D was ok - good minus the penalties. Hedly was solid. One total turnover. We just sucked. Not a disaster.

I disagree, for a program that has much better athletes top to bottom, much larger budget and a 35 point favored and almost lose is a disaster. No other way to define the abomination we witnessed yesterday.

No rational person thinks we should be beating Clemson. However, UNC won 3 games last year. Yesterday was Central Michigan. Also, what does dominating or a 240 lt have to do with another 13 penalties, four of which were committed by the defense in nearly successive plays. I have seen enough trash football and coaching over the last 15 years to know this is an undisciplined team and a coaching staff not putting guys in a position to succeed.

By the way... if you are starting two true freshmen OL, why are we running so many slow developing plays. This offensive staff and its hard headedness is looking awfully similar to Ono’s defense.

It's not surprising. How you looked at the assistant bios on the Hurricanes website? (xref Coaches Bio). Except for Rumph and Fields, they're all from Dias' and Enos' coaching tree. When you hire a first time head coach, the coaching tree has narrow branches.

LOL if you saw an OK pass D given the competition. They had a dozen drops and missed several wide open receivers. If we played a team with a pulse they hang 500 yards passing and 50 points on us yesterday.

I’m not sure some of you guys realize how bereft of talent CMU is.

I mentioned the dozen dropped passes to some Cane fans, We were lucky. A pass happy team would of obliterated us yesterday.

The defense gave up 10 points. They didn't score at all until 1 minute left in the third. Turned the ball over three times. Their one drive was 3 yards per play, and aided by 4 penalties and two fourth down conversions. Not dominant, but not abomination.

When you hire a first time HC with a limited network. His experience was limited to small programs (NC State, Mississippi State, LA Tech), except Texas. Where he fired during the season.
