This reminds me of Coker in 2006

The thing is, UF isn't good either. They lose a lot in the trenches and will be trotting out Felipe Franks. That game could be fool's gold with a new OC.

Your HATRED for the Florida Gators is blinding your cognitive skills and what not. Florida is going to MOLEST, BYTCH SLAP, OBLITERATE, and TKO Miami just like a SUCKY Wisconsin team did last night. Similar to Clemson, LSU and Wisconsin in the Orange bowl last December.

Because I GUARANTEE Mullin, akin to the Cajun head coach, will prepare his team for Miami during the spring, summer and August. While Richt is giving his players DAYS OFF from practice in the spring and August. Yikes.

Zero faith in them actually making a real hire, but their are good, innovative playcallers all around the country who would salivate at the chance to have Miami's offensive talent. No idea why people think that the chance to hire a good OC has passed. It's on Richt, just as it always was.

Any new OC will want ABSOLUTE control of the offense and RICH AIN'T GOING TO ALLOW THAT. So please chit can any notion of Richt firing his good ol' boy ****!

Matt Canada
Bendenbough (oklahoma)
Gleeson (Princeton)
Harrell (North Texas)
Anyone but Richt (lol)

Matt Canada would be deflating. Dude got fired after one year by Ed Orgeron.

"Maryland was Canada’s fourth employer in four years and seventh coaching stop in nine season " Took this from an USA Today

My dream would be
Neal Brown or Jedd Fischer as OC
Gleeson QB coach

Not sure Gleeson would take the demotion, but maybe money would take care of that.

better athletes? Have u seen our guys in the nfl lately? Where do yall get some of this stuff like we sending hall of famers or first rounders out there. Every team shyts out nfl players, its who putting out the stud quality nfl guys. We are no longer that team so this myth needs to be buried.

This is a public relations board first and foremost. There may be negativity and banners but the single overriding trend is overstating our players to comical degree.

We have skinny guys who get pushed around and sloppy guys who can't push anybody around. But as soon as a few of them make NFL rosters then we've got the dependable propaganda from administrators asserting that we have supreme talent and rightful national championships upon competent coaching.

It is hilarious misrepresentation, and has been that way as long as this site has been in existence. Every spring is a farce in terms of how our roster is described.

Once we have our head coach in the front row at the NFL Draft, wondering which one of his nearby players will be the next one picked in the first round, then we can rave about our talent level.

Because that's what it takes these days to legitimately compete with the Alabama, Clemson and Ohio State types. It is where we used to be.

The only other vehicle is to find a freakish skill position player like Oklahoma has done multiple times recently. That is fragile but exciting mode. In that scenario the rest of your roster doesn't have to be Alabama or Clemson level. But it **** sure needs to be close enough, and far above the current Miami level.

His options are to ride or die with his guys or finally make the changes needed for the better of this program. There are no other alternatives for him at this point.

Hire a great young mind to take over this stagnant offense and this can be a quick turnaround, Stick with the status quo and he's signing off on his own extension.
He died with Malik, nothing will change

That's how this feels. Same age (58), same record. We have an offensive coach with a boring, ineffective offense. Our only hope is hiring an OC to do the coach's job for him. We are trying to make Richt a CEO, even though his big-picture judgment this year would get him fired by any board. The defense is good but overworked and flawed. The quarterback play is the worst it's been since Kyle and Kirby.

It's been twelve years since Coker got fired and we are in the same place. This sucks.

The reality is you can't fire Richt after three years. No AD in America would do that. I think there's enough pressure on him that he will hire an OC. But the question is: will he be bold, or will he make a "safe" choice that really changes nothing? History would suggest the latter.

Whatever he does, this needs to be the year. And if we don't make that leap into the Top 10, we need to move on and rethink our approach. Coker, Shannon, Golden and Richt all had one thing in common: they weren't innovators. They were supposed "CEOs" who believed in winning with simple schemes and better athletes. The past sixteen years have proven that won't work here. This is a program built on innovation. We need to get back to that.

Miami is a more attractive place than it was in 2006. We have a great stadium and modern facilities. Guys like Leach and Mullen were begging for the job. Someone like Dino Babers would kill for this opportunity. We saw in 2017 how quickly momentum can shift for the better. But we're getting old. And this season looked way too familiar.

Have you heard it is a definite an OC will be hired or is that what you expect to happen?

I’d do some terrible terrible stuff for Dino Babers to take over here. Holy **** would it be a show.

This is a lot of words to just say that the admin/AD is the issue.

It would be incredibly shortsighted to keep Richt if the only reason were money. That stadium is going to be a ghost town next year.

Yeah man exactly and you know I didn’t even see that quote. That’s pretty significant to be honest.

Richt is going to pick some ******* that gets our offense in the 90’s again so he can prove to everyone he was right. He seems like that type of *******.

If Richt were a godly man of his word he would resign if playcalling abilities were taken from him. That's the only reason he is here and was going to walk away until we gave him the opportunity to do so. But he's a hypocrite.

@DMoney I love your takes most of the time. I enjoy the podcasts. But everything isn't cyclical. Some things are. But not every season is the 99 season. Or the 06 season. And not everyone you see on Greentree playing well is the next "big thing". This fanbase lives in yesteryear perpetually. Why?

Feedback this morning from boosters has to be brutal. When it starts to pile up in the millions, maybe something gets done.

New political slogan, Butch and Pete in 2019. The boosters that hate them and gave us a series of clowns, take your money and shove it.
