This is on Richt

Interesting that people are blaming Kaaya solely when:

1. He's getting hit, hurried, or sacked on about 35 of 48 dropbacks
2. We want him to get rid of the ball quickly, but we have slow developing routes. Palmer even alluded that our receivers are not looking back for the catch while Kaaya is getting hit
3. When we do get the ball out quickly, it works....really well. But seldomly run these quick hitters.
4. Oh by the way, we lead all power five in drop percentage.

It's Kaaya, it's the receivers, it's the O-Line, it's the playcalling. It's the entire offense as a whole. It's the execution, period. That's on Richt and his offensive staff. It just seems like we don't have the offense that plays to our strengths. We have a 280 lb bulldozer at FB and we fail to use him. We have an immobile QB, but try to run a RPO. We have a sure-handed, ultra utility TE in Herndon but call his number seldomly. Our speed guys aren't given much to work with with longer routes. We have a weak OL but fail to get the ball out of our QBs hands quickly. OH, did I mention, why the **** we don't run behind our FB more often?

There's only two people on offense I can't knock, and that's Yearby and Herndon.

This is my exact thought process.

I'm not jumping off the Richt ride yet. However, what I thought was going to be a Porche is looking like a late 90's Civic these last 3 weeks.

I don't know if you can blame this loss on Richt alone. Of course he is the HC and ultimately responsible for wins and losses, but so much went wrong in this game I don't know where to start. The unexplainable fall of Njoku after the catch with no defenders anywhere around him.......a TD opportunity wasted, Kayaa throwing to receivers in double coverage causing interception, his poor RPO decisions, lack of mobility and inability to avoid sacs, dropped passes by receives and TE's, blown coverage by DB's, bad tacking with our defenses playing the worst game of the season, our kicker missing EP, and Richt's calling run plays after run plays against 8 man front......Everybody did their part to help us lose the game.

Broken record for the third week in a row....."not sure you can blame Richt for this one".

A bad coach is a bad coach, whether it's Coker, Shannon, Alf, or Richt. Does anyone trust this school not to just hire another bum if Richt goes?. After all, this school has proved very good at hiring shot coaches lately. Doesn't really matter who's at the helm, nthe team looks like dog crap no matter who's running this shot show.

Alabama went 6-7 in 2006. In 2007 Saban led them to a 7-6 record. People were saying it was a failed hire and that a good coach should have been worth more than one extra win. The following year he led Bama to a perfect record. Saban is the arguably the best coach in college football history and even he couldn't fix a team in one year. Richt is not on the same level as Saban (only Urban comes close) so if the best ever can't do it in one year, why is Richt being held to the same standard? Richt was hired because high school coaches and parents love him and he will be able to get the recruits from schools where the previous coaches torched bridges. Richt will win with the Butch Davis model : mediocre game day coach who dominated with overwhelming talent that he recruited.

HaHa....show me ONE person that said that was a failed hire?

Go check their message board from 2007. There are always a handful of jagoffs who think they know football who want a coach fired when he doesn't make a huge improvement the first year.

Looks like lots of them must have become Canes fans.

Richt is just a disaster. This is pretty unbelieveable actually.

It's even more baffling when you consider he's been coaching for as long as he has.

He's got no business calling plays. I'm willing to give him all the chances in the world to succeed here as a CEO type head coach but this ****ing play calling experiment needs to end immediately.

When was the last time UM had real innovative, top-of-the-line OC?

Gary Stevens?

Maybe Erickson( who was his own OC basically)?

Mark Whipple.

The last 3 years are on Kaaya. DMoney blaming everyone during these 3 years but Kaaya. He is the one constant during our suckery. The worst 3rd down quarterback we have ever had.

Another game, another 3rd down disaster. Can't even run for it on a 3rd and 3. EVER!

Offense Against V-Tech:
3rd down: 3-15
4th down: 0-2

He just ain't good for us. He ain't what we need.

Play calling wasn't bad tonight,Kayaa doesn't let go of the ball.He refuses to get the ball out quick and Palmer said it during the game.MR didn't fry the defense with his tempo tonight and he didn't abandon the play makers. And regardless who the coach is,BK freezes in the red zone.

Exactly

The play calling was horrible. RPO is basically costing us a down a series. No use of TE in middle of field. No jumbo packages with 2 or 3 TE to run the ball. No motion. Kaaya obviously is holding ball too long
and playing like ****, but he's not calling RPO BS.

It's like I told one Kaaya slurper against UNC just look at his red zone and third down efficiency, that's all you have to see. He just doesn't have that it factor about him.

If he was hired because he was like Butch, why the heck not just hire the real deal. Richt was supposed to be better game day coach than Butch. Nobody can recruit like Butch. The Saban comparisons are stupid. Satan had ALREADY WON AN NC!!! Mark never did that. Instead of a new birth for Mark this is looking like a continuation of failure. Seems to me he had one great hire, Kool, and one maybe decent hire, Manny. The rest of staff, especially the offense looks like trash. He needs to roll some heads and make changes. We all know that stubborn doesn't work here.

Could you or someone explain to me why there is never any motion in this offense? Are they unable to execute? Is it not a standard method to help with pre snap reads?

you guys are vastly over rating our talent. that QB for VT is better than Kaaya. the QB for UNC is better. The QB for FSU is slightly better.

Get a grip guys, our talent is weak. This isnt 1985 where you could corner the talent market. The playing field has changed even since 2001.
