There's just too much dead weight on the defensive side of the ball.
Simpson and TRob are good picks.
But DVD is redundant. He's a less experienced version of TRob. He has to be an ACE on the recruiting trail to justify being kept on in some understudy role. And an ace at any position that's needed, not just DB.
Baker and Patke are not elite position coaches and they're not recruiters. What value are they bringing?
If our special teams looked like Beamer Ball circa 2003, okay. But our coverage and return units were meh as ****.
And our LB play was abysmal.
On top of that, we know we tried to upgrade, but couldn't.
There's no way to spin this other than failure.
