Honestly, shouldn't Golden be desperately looking for a way out of here at this point? His career is taking a huge hit, and it's only going to get worse. The dude needs to find a lifeline and pull for all he's worth. He is definitely circling the drain.

The guy's short-sighted. He's holding on simply for the buyout, which makes sense since he and his agent pushed for an extension into 2020. He doesn't realize that he's killing his coaching career even more (yes, that's possible) by sticking around, then to try to get a job at another school. Nevin Shapiro is the best thing to ever happen to Golden.

I played for a ****** coach in high school. Players know when their coach is a joke and doesn't deserve their respect. You'd be surprised.

If I had to guess I'd say that more than you think probably don't respect him. Judging from things Lu's said in the past about players clowning his pillars and ****, I'd bet a good chunk of that locker room think he's a joke.
