These people belong in jail

So 14 out of 32 in nfl
24 out of 129 in fcs
but people Losing their minds college football might have 24 out of 135?

How do you really expect all the kids to get paid the way they want and have all these programs survive ?

Yeah I don’t care either way but that doesn’t freak me out.
I like college football better than the NFL. It’s not because they have better bands. It’s the best regular season in sports and they are killing it because of greed.

You watch less games last year? Bet ya didn’t.

The complaint here should be about the B1G proposing that they get more autobids by default than the ACC/Big 12/G5, not waaahhh change is bad.

Too much like RUTS in BCS. Screwed us in 2000.
Would ***** very good ball control teams and reward those with Mercer level OOC games.
I have to disagree. What is ******** us now is ESPN and biased rankings for historical teams.

You will never overcome the SEC bias of their fantasy “strength of schedule” every year.

Point differential is a great measuring stick across the board for any competitive sports. It would be easy to not include the score of Power 5 vs. G5 opponents especially with some conferences playing more conference games than others.

Don't want a playoff so big that it takes away the "Let's all tune in to see Bama get upset by Vandy because this L might keep them out of the playoff" type suspense.

The schedules are extremely unbalanced and people always wanna say these fraud teams who play no one should get a shot so we definitely need more than 4 because we got teams playing half the top 10 and we got teams playing Boise State and Indiana schedules.

What should end up happening is a P2 level tier with two leagues, 20-24 teams each. 4 teams from each league comprise the playoff group of 8 teams. This requires SEC and B1G expansion. This means Miami must join one of the other in order to participate.

The remnants the ACC and Big 12 expand with select G5 teams into a second level, with their own playoffs and championship game. Miami can join one of the two super conferences or settle for this level of competition.

Whomever is left out of the above two tiers is not part of the real conversation anyway.

The key to all of this is creating a level playing field in each tier. At least as level as possible. I believe NIL and revenue sharing helped with this implementation, but we need to be wary of those who want to rig the game.

It’s true the four CFP got it right 95% of the time, but this was also an era when certain conferences and teams were allowed to cheat with impunity, thereby rigging the game. Funny how many SEC teams are overrated at the beginning of the season, and beating them when ranked higher than they should be improves the winning team’s stock in the rankings.
Its a good idea as long as every current member of those 2 conferences aren't automatically in. Certainly some fat could be trimmed from those leagues as well, especially the BIG

simple as

you devalue the regular season to this extent and you continue to kill the regionality in the game, and you have no ******* sport left. sincerely.

but coming from a society that only cares about bottom dollar, not surprising.

let's remember they destroyed a building in our backyard that housed both the longest win streaks in the NFL and College Football history... (imagine that happening in say soccer in Europe or South America - would never)

Four is the right number. Every real controversy in college football history is solved by four teams. And in most years, that’s overkill.

Expanding the playoffs was always a bad idea and it gets worse every year.

I disagree with that, especially with the parity we see in the new ERA. OSU wouldn’t even have been in it. 12 teams is a good number IMO.

Precisely.

Expanding the playoffs cheapens the playoffs.

The reason why the conferences are pushing for an expanded playoffs is to just load the playoffs with more of their own teams.

The B1G wants 20+ teams, so they can shoehorn 8-4 Wisconsin & Iowa teams in, which gives them more negotiating leverage for their TV deals.

A 16+ team playoff = 8 teams from the B1G & 8 teams from the SEC.

Which would ultimately justify them not having to schedule outside of their own conferences anymore.
In today's out in the open "employment model" of college futbol...

Would you think restricting the CFPO to 4 teams disincentivizes a not small number of players/teams once they are defacto eliminated from contention basically by end of September?

I don't get it, why is expanding the playoffs a bad idea? At 20 teams, last year Canes likely qualify. Isn't that a good thing?
Having Guatamala in a world war doesn't make it a better world war. The college season will be as long as the nfl WITH 18-20 YEAR OLDS.

Out in the open NIL lawsuits lit that fuse long time ago.

That wasn't greed, but the die was cast...

The math has to math.

You're an attorney...you know this...the dollar printing press fairy isn't paying for all this magical funland.

I'll probably get the band hammer for saying this...but think through to a farther out end game: how much longer can elite football programs be truly tied, with full employee athletes (because that's what they are and one day will be legally designated), to their sponsoring universities?

I suppose a construct could be created for private institutions, but it gets really sticky really fast for public ones.

Will there be the same level of fan engagement ONCE/IF college football morphs into the XFL and takes its place as the once and for all feeder league to NFL?

It should be 8. First round games on campus. Then the final four is how it was for 10 years.

This is all silly, though. We all know it’ll be B1G and SEC making their own league soon and it’ll just be pro football. The Miami vs Oklahoma state playoff game on a Tuesday aftrernoon on the CW is gonna slap, though.

I am 100% in agreement with this. I am still ticked their is no real PAC conference. It's unbelievable. I once, watched every sport on TV for years with real interest. Today, I watch some NFL, but that has been dissipating for years. I really only have college sports left and they are killing college football for me. Realignment, playoffs and this NCAA ruling on Michigan. Money brings all the greed and corruption. This isn't college football.

You see a lot of exciting college games when the middle tier teams are matched up against eachother. You don’t see that in the NFL

Just keep it that way
