MEGA There’s Still Hope for the ACCCG/CFB Playoffs Mega Merge Thread

It’s over for them. Them and their portal full team has thrown in the towel. Mizzou, with hopefully their QB back and their good defense up against OU’s ****** O is our only shot at OU losing. Especially with OU coming off of a hard fought game.
If Mizzou can run the ball successfully they have a strong chance. What worries me is Mizzou isn’t great throwing the ball and OU’s pass defense has been shaky lately.

Everybody needs to be a Cincinnati fan this weekend.

Outside of our games against VT and Pitt, BYU @ Cincinnati is the important game of the season for us.

If BYU loses, we'll jump them AND Utah, which will put us in the head to head comparison with ND and Alabama.

I think the committee dug its own grave with the good losses comment. There's too much backlash over ND being ahead of us now.

That "good loss" comment also screws them for Alabama, seeing as they lost BAD to the same 5-5 FSU team that we dominated.
The "good loss" comment also makes zero sense as one of those losses was Miami! I am glad the media (even SEC shills) finally seem to have converged in agreement that ND being in over us and Bama is ludicrous.

We handed them the gun but holy **** this the most uneven application I’ve ever seen. Utah’s AD to the absurd moves to keep ND far enough away not to face a direct comparison. It’s nuts.

That LSU defense has some dudes though. The kid at safety that we wanted from Houston and a bunch of other guys. Oklahoma offense has been bad. Muck it up, maybe get defensive scores, who knows.

Strength of Schedule, Quality Wins, and all these are such biased POS metrics. It's predicated on the media's preseason bias with who they WANT to be ranked, not who should actually be ranked. And then you get arguments like this that are the epitome of circular logic and idiots go nuts over them because they reinforce their biases, and round and round we go.

ESPN is ruining my favorite sport, and it's killing me.
Their plan has been public and obvious from the first week rankings were published back in September. We all saw how many SEC and BIG10 teams were ranked in the top 25. Putting them in to start ensures they remain ranked for as long as possible. Even now Tennessee is clinging to #25.

None of this has been a secret. The real issue now is all of those "criteria" they bragged about in Aug/Sept are not working to their advantage... Criteria has been changed....

Everyone knew ND would be in unless they totally imploded. They want them for ratings, etc. Now they are having to protect them with teams like Baylor and UTah because by rights, they shouldn't be where they are.

Pathetic. I hope the noise continues.

The dream scenario for tomorrow is for Oklahoma to move up to 8, Bama sits at 9, then ND at 10. I’ll feel a lot better if we’re only 2-3 sports behind them. Let’s pass we pass Utah/Vady and the committee puts us at 12
That didn’t happen
And it was intentional
They are trying to keep Miami away from ND at all costs

I’ll cry more after we beat VT and Pitt.

All this up and arms ish, knowing we are capable of losing to either of those teams is a little premature to me.

Mario should be lobbying like he is, so I respect him for that.

This why you can’t lose to SMU and Louisville. Not saying go undefeated but being Miami, the committee might let you slide on one loss but two, you’re asking for trouble. Louisville and SMU are not brands you can lose to and still be looked at as quality.

This guy Adam Lichtenstein from the Sun Sentinel needs some credit. Not even a Miami fan but he’s doing the Lord’s work. He is downright cooking people on X. He’s made it his mission to spread the gospel of this injustice.
Pretty sure he’s a UF grad too

Our defense held ND to ridiculously low yardage. Their superstar was rendered useless. The score was not indicative of the beating we gave them thanks to Mario ball
Meathead needs to learn how to be a ******* mercenary
Hammer those ****ers Into the ground and never leave it to a committee to do you a favor

Meathead has not figured that out yet

Game control is a larger factor than Sos.

This is why Mario needs to get it through his thick ******* skull that blowing teams out is as important as "JUST" winning the game.

We had an opportunity to blow out ND, FSU but he was too ***** to take it....

The weekly struggle of being annoyed at the hypocrisy and bull**** but also annoyed at our own bull**** for allowing the hypocrisy and bull**** to exist
