I think there are too many eyes on that decision/comment now. As long as we win out I think they're going to have to put us ahead of them.

This is why there should be 100% automatic bids or a max on conference bids. Too much shady dealings and corruption otherwise.

3 SEC, 3 B1G, 2 ACC, 2 Big 12, 2 highest ranked Go5 champs. Force ND into a conference.

Well if they beat an undefeated OSU they might deserve it because their wins are better and their losses are to OU and USC.
Plus they can chalk that up, legit, to a TrFr QB needing time.
All salient points and not relying on some BS need metric

Insane to me that Finebaum is actually championing for Miami over ND, never saw that one coming.

Pate also had his weekly CFP ranking reaction and it was a good listen. Said the same thing even more bluntly, some of his paraphrased quotes are:

The committee has something they want to do, and sometimes its own criteria gets in the way, I firmly believe they want ND in this thing and could care less if Miami is. (pretty strong statement)

We are headed for a doomsday scenario and the committee did it to themselves, they said head to head is at a premium but ND and Miami arent being compared in the same group, they conveniently dont tell you how big the group is so if Miami wins out and is ranked 11 and ND is 9, is that close enough? How close do they need to be?

Also said he thinks BYU gets somewhat punished if they lose in the title game but the committee could also keep them at 11 and then say well they were not going to be in before the loss, so dropping them a spot after the loss doesnt really matter.

Pate also said I am going to explain the CFB committee logic, and you are going to say that sound stupid, and its because it is. We are living in a crazy world where close losses are taking precedent over wins, he agreed not all losses are equal so it has a place, but not the driving data point because we have so many other data points at this point in the season. Also said how do you justify a head to head bump, say on final selection sunday miami has always been around 12, notre dame around 10 and then we get moved ahead and say its based on h2h, well we knew about that game for months now, why only on the final ranking does it matter?

I didn’t complain last year because I genuinely didn’t think we were one of the 12 best teams. I’d have loved to see us get a chance just to see Cam Ward play more games of course, and the punchers chance mentality

Same this year. We are ranked just about where I think we should be based on our play and it puts us in yet another annoying spot

I’ll wait to freak out until we beat VT and Pitt and get left out though. We do that convincingly and it’s a new debate for me. Right now it’s too much blatant trolling and **** flinging by the committee

We need a 16-24 team playoff
Then all the good teams are in and there is no bickering except maybe who has to go play where…but it takes all the bs out of it and ultimately is decided on the field versus a f ing committee

I’ve said it for 20+ years 16 team field is what is needed and wouldn’t mind 24

16, maybe. 24? Once you even get to 20, it gets gross. Illinois? Arizona State? Houston? These teams don't deserve chances to dance. Imagine you are Ohio State and you have to play Houston as a 21 point favorite in the first round of a 24 team playoff and your QB gets hurt.

12 is fine. I like the top 4 getting the advantage of a bye. 16 I could probably live with. Any more than that, these teams ******* stink.

I’ve been in the either make it 4 teams or 64 basically

No matter how far we push it back it’ll be the same debates because college has been basically a group of 3,4,5 elite teams and then a big bag of teams that are the exact same

This year is even worse though. I watch OSU a lot. They’re far from a juggernaut but compared to everyone else they look that way. Indiana could easily have two losses right now

I am not sure if 2025 Miami would beat 2024 Miami but the parity we are seeing makes the 2025 team a more compelling argument for me

I just end up throwing my hands up by the end but I can understand almost everyone’s POV here
