The Work: August 15th practice recap (DL featured)

Quan needs to get right or he's going to lose millions in the long run. Obviously a wealth of talent I just have a hard time expecting anything out of him consistently. Not knocking the kid, he just seems to be having one of those careers here.

He has been suspended for what 2 incidents I think? The 2014 suspension for protecting his kid and hitting his roommate or something like that. And I don't know why he was suspended the first game last year

AQM is not a Senior on the field.

So, apparently you get an infraction for telling the truth around here.

AQM is a Redshirt Junior on the field. Isn't that true?

WTF? SMH

Lol you can't be getting infractions or are you? This is like the 3rd post I have heared you complain about the infractions today lol

Sure am! I am basically getting infractions for saying "I agree."

SMH

Unfortunately, the guy is a knucklehead. He'll get it straightened out and be an NFL All Pro. I just hope he gives us something other than agita while he's here.

All too similar to Seantrel Henderson.

Richt said that Edwards would be the “off-return man”, but that if the ball goes his way, he will return it.

I can't wait to see teams try and tackle 245lbs with a head of steam.

I disagree, he's too slow to return kicks. I am not a fan of this move at all.

You do know he runs a 4.5 flat....@245lbs.

Your point? He has done nothing to show any physicality and Coach Brown has re-emphasized that point thus far in practice. I wish some of you guys get off of the hype train of Gus. Until he shows that he's a big back, I'm not falling in love w/ his size or his speed.

Richt has said otherwise. Get off the ***** train.

I keep sending handwritten letters to Hecht for Kuligowski instructing him that my plan is for him to never leave the University of Miami. I sign them "Regards, God". Hopefully he never questions if God really lives in Broward based on the postmark.

That's how I feel. He's still got time. People keep making excuses for him same as Seantrel but at some point it's not luck. I just hope we get to see him on the field this year. Something tells me we won't though. A real deal year with someone like Kool could change a kids life.

He's the slowest 4.5 ever then. I call bull**** on that btw. That being said, he isn't quick or agile enough to return kicks. We need some guys that can make people miss and is able to hit a corner faster than a defender.

The 3rd down packages are going to have a totally new feel to them, I think:

Nickel:

DE Thomas
DT Willis
DT Mcintosh
DE AQM

LB Grace (please)
LB Quarterman/Owens

CB Colbert
DB Carter
DB Jenkins
CB Elder
CB Redwine

Dime package:

DE Thomas
DT Willis
DT Mcintosh
DE AQM

LB Grace (please)
LB Carter

CB Colbert
DB Johnson
DB Jenkins
CB Elder
CB Redwine

40 sacks in 2016.

They're just gonna take his knees out, he'll probably get injured. Nobody will tackle him high.

Exactly. It really is common sense. This is why you usually don't see players his size returning kicks. This is just a good example of our lack of depth. Edwards wouldn't sniff the Special teams in the 80's/90's/00's. Then again, one can argue he wouldn't sniff the field in those days.

Who gives an *** who is doing returns. Catch the ball, don't do anything stupid, get pass the 20 and let 15 do the rest.

40 sacks would've been top ten in the NCAA last season. We only had 26 last season, good for 64th. That big a jump would be amazing and so refreshing to see.

Pretty sure Imma trust his position coach. Richt has already said he hasn't been paying too much attention to other positions, other than QB. ****, Richt didn't even know if a player was at practice a day or so ago. Anyways, we have 2 years of film of Gus being nothing more than a finesse back, so why am I even debating w/ you?

Why can't Sam Bruce and Malek Young return kicks again? If it ain't Stacey Coley then nobody else has (proven) to be THAT good to the point where the freshman who may not start can't get a shot to prove their worth.

Was literally thinking about our dime package yesterday. First team is quite solid, but man if we get injuries teams will look to spread us out and pick their spots.
