antonio crawford should really be moved to safety imo. has the size for it and likes to hit and couldn't really crack the CB rotation this year...

The good news I promised to post today is that things continue to look up for Derrick Griffin qualifying. More details in The Work tomorrow

Kiy Hester is now our #1 safety target.

However, it won't be easy. Hester is a much sought after safety prospect with a Top 6 that includes Michigan State, Ohio State, Arkansas, Miami, Vandy and Rutgers. We must get him to campus to have a shot.

Good job Pete!

Great work Pete! I personally think we land Cook, only because he seemed real down when Yearby got injured and was sad thinking that their high school careers will end like that...and he claims that Yearby is his brother/ close friend and loves playing with him....also I think he wants to really see how bad the Staff n Golden want him...cause he signs with UM, he immediately becomes KR/ backup running back..with Yearby redshirting, Crawford back to mainly SP duty with occasional Carries, and Gus Edwards moving to FB...just my opinion

What on earth makes you think Yearby would be redshirting? He's our #2 back the day he steps on campus.

1, I knw its a minor injury, but only if Cook comes, I think he will redshirt because of Cook's Versatility..he can do a lot more...and 2 they might see Yearby as more of workhorse back and he might not get the carries he needs with Duke still here...I just knw that Duke and Cook...speed kills, and we won't put so much into Coley playing WR/PR/KR...as u can see he was exhausted for the Pitt Game...but if he doesn't come, Yearby will definitely get pushed into that back up role sooner than later

Pete is correct. Look for another safety name to pop up on the Canes radar over the next few weeks. He's rated the #1 HS football prospect in the state of Pennsylvania…Dravon Henry. He now has Miami in his Top 5.

Yup.

Especially considering we'll have 3 scholarship safeties on the roster if we don't get one this cycle.

Ive been saying that Artie Burns needs to be moved to safety all year we are to slow at the position.

i like artie burns at safety then get jc jackson in to play corner

Think Jackson would be better as a safety. Better ball skills and a sturdier frame.

I'm telling y'all folks.

Leave Artie Burns alone and let him blossom into one of the best CB's in the country.

Looks like the SC coaching search is down to Petersen and Franklin........
Lets see if that makes an impact with Kaaya.

I like Artie at safety. His range out there is intriguing.

I've been saying that. I was all for him at CB when we had Bush at full strength, but seeing what it was like when Deon was a shell of himself with the groin injury makes me realize safety is a big need and Artie has the talent to be a star at Safety or CB.

I don't get why people on here act like CB is such a better position than safety. How many more games would we have won if we didn't have Highsmith and Rogers whiffing on tackles? How many big plays did we give up because of those two?

Besides, it helps Artie's draft stock to know more positions as a DB and it makes him a better overall player.

Thanks Pete, do you think that we will end up with one of these top flight safeties or will we resort to putting Burns back in that spot? I actually love that idea IF we have to. We really need to get athletic depth at the safety spot, Bush was gimpy all season and Jenkins has a habit of getting dinged every now and again. Carter by himself would not be able to cover both positions and I am not even sure about this Mayes kid...just saying.. GO CANES!!
