The truth about Jarren Williams...

Better question, how many of the accounts posting on this thread actually belong to OP? I'm setting the over/under at 3.

Yeah, we shouldn't expect a freshman QB getting his first ever real game experience against a very good, aggressive defense, with a porous offensive line, in primetime, against a hated rival, to struggle at all.

****...this nearly broke my heart. Poor guy is beaten down to the point he forgets the rich history of ballers that have come through here. Prayers up for you guy.

I’m of the fellowship that says If you got it..you got it...imho of course. Can’t remember too many true difference makers that came through here that needed “time”.

So Dorsey should have been benched. His first game was terrible. Same for many QBs that became stars for many teams.

Stats
- 11 of 20 completed passes were behind the line of scrimmage (Yes 20, espn box score has it wrong at 19).
- 6 of the other 9 passes were for 10yds or under (3,3,5,6,10,10). *This is not counting yac, just the throw and catch
- 19 of 20 passes were to wide open receivers.

These are throws that any Power 5 starting qb should be able to make.

Missed Opportunites
- A low throw to Jeff Thomas at 3:20 left in the 2nd quarter cost a TD. If the ball is on point and hits JT in stride then its a TD. Notice the one safety has his body turned towards the slot and the other bites on KJ and its open field behind him.

- A throw behind DJ Dallas cost a TD. If the ball is on target then the DL doesn't touch DJ and all other defenders are being blocked. Kurt comments on it as well during the replay.

- Potential TD is missed due to not keeping eyes on Dj Dallas with the sack at 3:34 in the 3rd quarter. There was pressure but there was also an opportunity as DJ has steps on his defender downfield.

- Big plays squandered by inaccuracy and not seeing a wide open target.

- Jaren had 4 chances at drives on the gator side of the field in the last half of the 4th quarter and did not score on any of them.

Other
- At least five sacks were Jarens fault. Dan enos stated this in a post game interview.
- Decision making lacked in areas like throwing the ball away, tucking and running, not tucking and running, pocket presence and posture among others. This was also commented on by Enos.
- Jaren was not the same QB as they saw in practice. This was another comment made by Dan Enos.

Thoughts
- This is UM. National championships are the bar. This was one of manny's first statements as head coach. Its wins or nothing here. This was stated after the loss by Manny, DJ, and Jaren as well. There were many problems in the game that cost us a win. However, if any player has a performance like this during a game (not practice) and shows so many flaws in things that are not quick fixes then they need to be re-evaluated at minimum and possibly pulled since this may be who they are as a player. Again, this is UM and we dont tolerate losses, especially like this to Florida. If you are playing for the Miami Hurricanes then it doesn't matter if it's your first start or 40th, we expect excellence , this was also a statement made by Enos. We will not see a defense like this until clemson so do we wait until then to see if Jaren can change, or do we give some one else a shot that might not be lacking in these categories.
Also missing from the stats you posted is the ZERO INTERCEPTIONS

15/34 44% for 215 yards 1 TD 0 INT, in his first road start (even after 3 previous games) behind an OL with multiple All-Americans.
Went on to throw for 58% completion rate, 86 career touchdowns vs 26 INTs.

Guy's name was Ken Dorsey.

Gotta stop living in the past...

The Jarren Williams suckfest needs to chill. He did some good things, but made a ton of mistakes to go along with them. I graded him out with a C-. He needs to stop playing scared and safe and take some chances down the field or else defenses will sit on the short stuff playing cover 0 like the Gaytes did in the 2nd half.

Is exactly what everybody says until the INTs start. Kinda like bashing Berrios until the next guy drops the ball on his own 10.

The whole point was to make those easy throws so the D has to adjust, then you can go long. It just turns out that uf had the DL to create too many problems for that to work. Maybe it wasn't the right plan, maybe Enos needed to react quicker, maybe Jarren needed to make better throws. Whatever the case, it wasn't the QB being scared, it was a game plan + a D that wasn't giving him much time.

Who? 🤣🤣🤣 Dorsey is the most overrated player in history..considered trash in some hurricane parts.

I’ll never forget his noodle arm desperately flinging a ball downfield in the SuperDome to Santana Moss who had Lito Sheppard beat by about 5 yards. Lolol fuggin Dorsey couldn’t get it there & Lito picked it off. 🤣🤣🤣

Only his freshman season did he pass for 60plus completion percentage. The rest he was in the 50’s. Lost to UDub due to him, almost lost to BC due to him, lost to OSU do the the great Kenny Dorsey.

But hey...he “won” a lot of games & put up a bunch of stats so kudos to him for taking the most talented team in cfb history to just one national title.

But I’ll take that from Jarren at best

Well reading the first and last post in this thread only reaffirms that most UM fans have an IQ slightly above an adult civet. Carry on gentleman, here are some sippy cups, two helmets, and some condoms - I am out of balloons.

Wow, just when I think your takes can't get any more ridiculously stupid....

Gotta see what JW can do moving forward. Simple stuff. Dude flops again and he's done as a starter here.

Go Canes !!!!!!

You were Team Nkosi correct?

We've got 2 6'5" guys as receiver types and we didn't bother to throw a single fade to them in the end zone. There were other plays where we had receivers open downfield but Jarren decided to go short. He played scared. Holding onto the ball and taking sacks is being timid. He needs to roll the dice on some long balls to stretch a defense.

I'm thinking people are having visions of Sunshine up there in SC, and somehow they think that's how every Frosh will perform (IF) he's any good. It's ridiculous. If Sunshine were eligible to be drafted after his first year, he would have been selected by everybody at Number 1 - except for maybe KK at Arizona. The kid is a different breed. He and Tua are the (Frosh) exception. Not the norm.

Others have to be developed. Go through the growing pains.

I think our OC & JW have the pedigree to make that journey. Time will tell. But, after watching the game over, and over, and over - I really like JW's potential.
Sunshine ain't do **** at the beginning which is why he got benched against the Aggies. They brought him along slow. Dont even get me started with the ton of circus catches in the natty to make him look good. Did you see him tonight? I'm a believer Jarren is gonna flourish.

I’m a believer too.

Hey you know what they say about fat-gutted, pimple-faced couch Quarterback experts?

"Those guys are the true experts of how to play the QB position...."

Wake up homers-- this ain't 2001....or 1989...

This is like 1984 when Schnelly started a vibe, a movement.... bringing in the bad boys from the mean streets...

This is when the foundation gets put down. It's actually not about winning every game yet.... it's about showing you can improve from game to game. That mistakes are cut down. That blocking gets better. That the running game can rip yards so that the QB can have the benefit of the D being a little back on their heels so he gets that extra time and space for the WR to get open.

You can believe Miami always step on the field every year as "THE MIAMI".... just like you can believe Trump ain't a mad-man running America...

It don't make it true.

Miami is what Miami is... a #30s-20's ranked team at best right now.

But it's what they are ranked at THE END OF THE SEASON that has the ultimate meaning.

So take a big toke on some good green bud....blow it out....take another big toke....blow it out....scratch your nuts...

Then let's wait for the next game...and see if this team shows it can learn from mistakes and improve.

That's how you tell if Miami is coming back....
