Hard to say what’s what but you’ve heard some rumblings from insiders that the staff does not have a good handle on how things really are with certain recruits. There have been several cases where the staff believed they were leading only to be behind. Im guessing this is one of those times.

Danny continues to be confident about cooper just a day ago and there were cooper/texas rumblings (in fact, some insiders were saying cooper wasn’t coming) just a couple days ago. Massive disconnect going on here in perception (from Miami staff) to reality.

The bottom line is we need to get over the hump. We were on the verge when we forgot to kneel against Georgia Tech. We were on the verge when we were up 21-0 on Syracuse. We need to get to the next level as a program to prove we aren’t the place dreams go to die.

Until then, we will be fighting a lot of uphill battles.

SFL kids are a different animal then kids from Bama/Louisiana/texas/mississipi etc. we aren't a city where kids are raised to have blind loyalty to Miami. A lot of these kids grew up Gator/FSU/Bama fans despite being from Miami, its just a front running type culture down here, they want to see SUCCESS.. its the same rszn half the ppl down here **** on the Dolphins & its why Ohio State/Bama can come down here n take 5stars with ease. crazy part is we've actually had MUCH better success recruiting top talent Nationally then in our own backyard, that should tell you a lot. #1 ranked generational WR recruit in the country was from Miami last cycle n i knew from the jump he wouldnt end up here lol. #1 ranked PLAYER OVERALL from butt**** Missouri and he reppin the U.

Good thing football hasn’t even been played yet. Texas in a similar spot with a less proven QB. They lost a lot of their pass catcher as well.

It’s Mario’s job to reverse the last two decades of mediocrity and it doesn’t happen with 1 successful season. 10 wins on 10 wins on 10 wins and so on.
 
I guess my canes connection money isnt good enough for these hometown divas.

Yeah i get your point but most TOP elite 5star recruits are deciding between those same Top 5-10 NIL schools, what can Miami sell them when the money is in the same ball park?

Yea front runner mentality all the way down to optimist and high school football guys transfer or go to the popular team 90% of the time. I understand that and why its easier for great teams to take our recruits. But felt like with the more wins we have on field the easier it would be to recruit

According to The Foreclosure, we need to make the playoffs (minimum) this year to have any sort of chance with convincing most of the local players that Miami is the place to be.

I'm not optimistic, especially with the type of gameday coach Mario has proven to be. His strength is recruiting but in this era, he's not as elite as he once was or was thought to be.

Is that going to work for Arizona State they made the playoffs last season, or Boise? Nah

I agree Mario isn't as good as a recruiter then the next tier of guys who have come up. He's the best we have had since Butch though for sure, but still isn't good enough to what we as fans want.

We have to sustain it, cant just be one season here and there
