Manny and his crew are not developing players into NFL capable players. If anything, they shine as freshmen and fizzle out.
What do you expect when playing in a gimmick, non-fundamental scheme and being a "Starter" that plays half of every game.
I dont blame any of the defensive kids for leaving. If they stay they get to rotate every series and share snaps with every other kid who plays the same position.
On offense though, playing for our first real coaches we've had on that side of the ball in over a decade would be nice.
I expect to see some actual player development from the offense over the next 2-3 years.
no.
The players are what they are.
RJ got pushed around in the run game too much, injures shoulder caused him to drop too, Joe Jackson was too stiff, couldn’t bend the edge, tested poorly.
Shaq lacks sideline to sideline speed, more of an old school LB.
Bandy too short. Elder was a good athlete, but not off charts and he was small too.
Jaquan Johnson, again smaller stature didn’t test great.
RJ
Chad
Jenkins
Redwine
These guys above improved and were better athletes that’s why they went higher than others or got drafted.
no one is going to coach Shaq, Jaquan, Bandy over their draft position, they have limitations that prevent it.
That’s also why Greg Rousseau and Jaelen Phillips could both be drafted very high.
Long, twichy, fast athletic DE’s.
I think Manny understands the need to get more athletic on defense.
DE’s like Rousseau, Phillips, Chantz, and Queutin Williams
DT’s like Hunte, Blissett, Holley, Roberts
LBers like Avery Huff, Sam Brooks, Austin-Cave.
Strikers/DB’s like Frierson, Smith, Hall, Williams
we are actually going to be more athletic on defense next few years than we have been IMO which should translate to Higher drafted defensive players.
