The Civil War on the team

Berrios made a lot of enemies in that locker room.

How did he make enemies in the locker room considering he work his butt off. Do think waters and lewis bring similar skill sets yes I do but it is up to them to get on the field. Which they did more as the year went on.

Go Canes
Has nothing todo with anything you jus said.

He runs his mouth alot FWIW

So he offends Golden's girls on the team. Since when is running your mouth an offense in the Hurricane locker room? Everyone like this kid because he reminded us of old Canes. Sounds like we were right. Get rid of Al's girls.

Herb played 181 plays this year
Berrios played 194 plays this year

It looks like equal time to me and not one playing over the other. Some of yall need to stop taking sides here and act like team players. If Kaaya ain't throwing the ball to Herb, than that's on Kaaya.

Malcolm Lewis played in 302 plays. My question is should Malcolm be getting reps over Herb rather than Berrios over Herb since Malcolm almost got double the reps?

Makes sense.

Actually its because he's a white receiver from north Carolina. If he was from dade county every one would love him.

There aren't any white kids in Dade County.

CJ Worton, WRfrom South Dade high last year, who went to UF

Lol I said it another thread about this, sometimes the QB vibes with certain WRs and it's just a good fit. That's what this is imo. Kaaya and Berrios just vibe well on the field so Berrios got the reps. Him and waters are roughly equal skill wise so I don't have a problem with it.

Lots of Monday morning quarterbacking going on in regards to the young guys. Before the season he never played young guys now he's playing to many lol

---------------

How are they roughly equal skill wise?

Herb is a proven threat, upper classmen. berrios has done nothing.

I usually agree with your opinions but i dont here. berrios and kaaya are both true freshman and good friends. So because of that he deserves to play over herb!?

So if you were coach of the seahawks last year you would bench percy harvin because russell wilson and golden tate are friends and vibe better? .gotcha

Oh naw it has nothing to do with them being friends off the field, it's that whatever relationship they have translates onto the field. Kaaya looks for Berrios and trusts him, there timing is there and that's important. Given that Berrios is still talented AND he vibes with the QB on the field, that's enough to earn the snaps he has imo. If pressed I'd probably say Waters is the better of the 2 but not by a wide enough margin that Berrios shouldn't play.

And about the Seahawks, I live in Washington so I got a pretty good understanding of the Seahawks. There's a reason Tate was rewarded handsomely by the Lions and Percy was shipped off for peanuts, **** straight Tate should have played as much as he did. Probably should have played more.

bringing out stats to support an argument when my eyes dont lie.

Sure, you posted the amount of plays or snaps the players got.

But when did herb get his snaps? when he was on special teams trying to block 250 pound behemoths at goldens request?

Or in garbage time in important games? Or did he play most of his snaps in the games we knew we would win?

When i say berrios played more, like everyone else, i meant in big games WHERE WE NEED our PROVEN UPPERCLASSMEN.

Herb should have been in the game to drop that catch vs nebraska...... also should've been in to drop that pass vs fsu. two critical games we needed our proven upperclassmen in.

telling me how many snaps the players have played is the same as a guy saying we have a top ten pass defense after playing 4 run first teams!!

Nerds always try to pull numbers to support their argument but NOTHING in college football is that black and white.

FAIL!

LMFao the seahawks thing was just an example tho. i knew some1 was going to chew me out for that.

I dont really disagree with what your saying. it makes a lot of sense.

But any coach with half a brain starts herb over berrios in these big games regardless of kaaya comfort or the "skill" comparison.

I feel you, I actually really like herb and wouldn't be mad if he got more snaps and even kind of agree that he deserves it, I'm just not upset that Berrios played as much as he did.

This, football is a ridiculously complex game that's impossible to quantify with stats. Stats will never tell the whole story

Yes but the surgery usually is done between 1st and 2nd season.

Lol everyone was loving Berrios last year.

Remember when everyone was loving Kevin Nelson?

Talk that ****, but you have to back it up.

Nelson didn't and neither has Berrios.

+1000000000

It's more than just selling out... That's our team's issue... They aren't the old canes... The old canes earned their right to "sell out" these players haven't... Erickson said no worked harder than those group of guys... We lift weights with a dj and then wonder why we get did in... Berrios hasn't done anything to sell out... Only Duke, Clive and DP and they don't even jaw like these other kids...

The link breaks down the each play for the games listed and the result of the play. For the Nebraska game, Herb was in for a lot of passing plays. If you don't want to look at it, that's up to you. If you look at the Nebraska game, almost every play that Herb was in, it was a pass play.

Stats are used as a supplement in sport's analysis to prevent bias eyes. Prove your point with something to back it other than what your eyes saw at home watching it on TV with the camera zooming in on the quarterback, running back, and offensive line. On my TV, I can't see a ******* route from a WR because of the zooming in of the camera. How good is your memory because I can't recall the formations used and who was in on each set and what match ups we were trying to exploit? Can you? Maybe if you went to every practice and game, what your eyes are telling you would mean something.

A big recruiting tool used if playing time for freshman. FSU plays freshman at WR. They are in on big plays. Yearby was getting PT over Gus. They both played pretty equally all year using the eye test. Yearby missed a key block in one of our losses and got tackled by one arm against FSU on a big 3rd down. He's not getting much heat on him. We use 3 and sometime 4 WR sets. Herb has been in on enough plays to get the ball. If he ain't getting it, talk to Kaaya.

Wow the race card... To be fair until we start winning talking trash shouldn't be a priority... You have to earn it on the field... We wasn't talking trash in 79 losing to FAMU we had to earn it...

I hope berrios runs his mouth. Lets not sit here and act like old school canes weren't talking **** all the time.

This. Back in the day a senior responded to a ****y freshman by beating his *** every single day on the practice field (or losing his job), thus making the team better.

We need more Berrios and less soft shouldered upperclassmen who get pouty when someone hurts their feelings.

And, well, less Al Golden. But we all knew that already.

Thank you. That kid grew up dreaming of being a big talking brash Cane...then he walked into that mind warped locker room. Don't know the kid, but I believe he committed to UM before Folden. I have no problem with him stirring **** up in the locker room.

this team needs more guys like him. we need more people giving the other teammates **** and calling em out when they **** up and they underperform as most of this senior class and frankly most of every senior class did in the last decade. outside of DP and Dorsett, i have no issue w him calling others out. i love the young guys stepping up and holding everyone accountable. now only if the admin learned from BB and held the coaches accountable, as well.

Seems to me Berrios is being a victim because of his race. He needs a I cant Breathe shirt too. He had one drop on a very tough catch. The ball came right by the defender shielding Berrios's vision and the ball looked like it was going to get deflected. I still think he should have caught it. I also believe Waters is better right now.

He needs to hold himself accountable... He made very few plays himself... Talk is cheap... He's talented but he needs to make plays before he calls out anyone... Its not just about talking trash and swag... Its hard work and production...

Why are you playing the race card? Personally, outside of Duke and DP no should be talking trash... Thats the problem with our team... What has he done to call anyone out... Please stop playing the race card and for you to reference a slogan derived from a serious incident, says a lot about your character...
