"Continuing his process... very professional" = there won't be a commit soon. Kid is going to up the bidding war and then go to the biggest bag. Might be us.

"Good chance to flip" = not the forgone conclusion people have been expecting, but I still think he ends up in this class.

"Still communicating" = he's listening to offers, but he ain't coming.

"Trending away" = he gone.

"In the mix... up in the air... decided over the next few days" = offers and counters are still going out. We upped our initial offer after missing on some DL. Waiting to see how others respond.

i could be wrong but i took all the linemen posting last week wall of mirabal with the current commit pics as thats the OL group and kolojay is out,
 
Thanks for the update D$. And not as bad as I expected.

I agree with the strategy. Get Cooper, BPW and Kolojay and then play the long game.

Worst mistake we could make is at this point blowing our stash on reaches. Save the loot for guys that will make a difference.

True, but Dabo didn’t have to recruit against decades of horrible on field performance. What would Mario’s classes look like if he got to recruit on the back of the on field performance and recruiting classes like Dan Lanning inherited?

Too many people (mostly from other team websites) have built a whole mythology around college football players being "resentful" of the contracts the freshmen get. If college players REALLY were so resentful about how much they are being paid annually, I guarantee it won't be any better in the NFL. ****, in the NFL, most of the team should hate the QB.

nfl players sign multi year legal contracts...college kids can renegotiate or leave whenever they want... they may not be resentful (I have no idea) but if they were, their actions could be a lot more impactful than what an nfl player can do...

I mean, Texas had top 5 classes when they were in the Big XII, they went to the SEC & are still getting top 5 classes, so what exactly changed?

Notre Dame recruits at an Elite level, what conference are they in?

I'll do you one better...

Do you think teams like VA Tech, or Pitt would suddenly start recruiting at a high level if they went to the B1G or SEC?

I think if Miami were in the SEC they could just overpay guys and be similar to Texas A&M. The SEC doesn't guarantee anything, but it isn't just a coincidence. If you are arguing playing in that environment with that exposure doesn't put those teams at an advantage than we can agree to disagree. Those ACC schools you mentioned arent heavily invested in NIL and that is the differentiator.

This is a great post imo

@DMoney … If we are at 105 schollies…Why is Redding on the back burner? Why the cold shoulder to Hughes? We don't have a natural safety commit (Sure I understand some kids are versatile)…You can throw STA another bone for the future and take a guy like Daniel Norman instead of instead of praying one of the Bama Des come aboard. Why was every other local WR option ignored just because Keys mentions UM on occasion and we had to make sure we were in Jase Matthews' top 7?

That's puzzling to me.
 
This makes a lot of sense this update, not surprised. We need to win on the field. The recruiting has picked up tremendously over the last three cycles. We're spending money now we need results ..real results.

It would look the exact same as it does now.

Clemson during the Tommy Bowden era were a perennial 8-4 team, they weren't winning sh*t until Dabo showed up.

Mario is not a 1st year head coach coming into his first season at Miami, the whole narrative of having to recruit against a backdrop of 20 years of losing is a cop out excuse. He's been here for 4 years now & his first 3 seasons, he had one winning season, it's nobody's fault but his own.

Not Manny Diaz, not Mark Richt, not Al Folden, not Randy Shannon, not Larry Coker, not Butch Davis, not Dennis Erickson, not Jimmy Johnson & not Howard Schellenberger... Mario Cristobal is responsible for HIS team success & HIS recruiting.

So if UGA was playing in the Big XII instead of the SEC they wouldn't still have top 5 classes?

If Wake Forest & UVA were in the SEC they would have top 5 classes?

Yes, UGA isn't solely relying on NIL for relevancy.

No, those schools don't have the financial standing to be relevant in a major conference.

Would Clemson and Miami recruit better than they do currently if they were in a P2 conference?

Can any school like Texas Tech that is willing to spend big, make things more interesting?

Those are 2 separate arguments. I'm not arguing that it is an automatic qualifier being in those conferences. I'm stating that with all things equal financially, we are still at a disadvantage.

Is it correct to interpret this update, and today’s pod, to mean they don’t want to pay recruits now to commit, and then again in December to sign?

They’d rather gamble on the flip so they only have to pay in December?

It’s all pretty obvious I think but what do I know

If we played UGAs schedule last year what would be our record with that defense?

It is an easier path. A much easier path. But it’s just easier to cover up our glaring holes playing in the ACC

We are still out kicking our coverage in recruiting when you look at the rankings the last few years but if you wanna try and tell me we are gonna beat out Texas/Oregon/OSU etc I’ll just wait and see how that plays out

Just remember the debates and arguments about the playoff last year were all over who was the #12 or #13 best team in the country
