Wasn’t talking about him. Guess that makes 2.When cway is on your side, you are better off deleting your account.

I know for a fact that NC State, FSU and UFag reached out to Kinsler’s camp a few times since the end of the season.
I think he’s the 6th guy right now, which is huge considering he’s beat out a 5* guy for that role.
Why Okunlola stayed is a mystery to me. Last year at this time I was hyping him up. ****, I think since the October of his Fr year I’ve been saying he was on his way up.
This spring, I am disappoint.
I really don't have a side. Haven't commented on Scott at all because I really dont care about an 8th DB acquisition. I do, however, know full well that posing any type of contradiction to the machine ruffles cis feathers. Good luck on your journey.Wasn’t talking about him. Guess that makes 2.![]()
Calvin Russell Is a must , he has game changing ability . We have to land this one
The Portal is cooling down and recruiting is heating up. Here is the latest:
- Miami is in a good position for nickel Keionte Scott (Auburn). He was a preseason All-SEC player and Senior Bowl kid at nickel before moving outside and struggling. He has NFL upside if he regains form with his old coach, Zac Etheridge.
- The Canes are also in a strong spot for LB Mohamed Toure (Rutgers). He was previously coached by Miami DC Corey Hetherman and was one of the best LBs in the Big 10 in 2023 before an ACL injury. He is expected to be full go.
- I don’t anticipate any other action. Miami didn’t love the DT value available and is prepared to forward with their bigger DEs ans inside options alongside DT Artavius Jones.
- The battle for Jackson Cantwell (Nixa, MO) feels like a tennis match. Miami had all the momentum a couple weeks ago, Georgia is picking up steam and may have taken the lead, but Miami feels they are still very much alive. It doesn’t seem like Oregon is a huge threat.
- Some other names Miami is working hard as the focus shifts back to recruiting: WR Calvin Russell (Northwestern), WR Vance Stafford (Orange County, CA), OL Canon Pickett (Tampa), DE Asharri Charles (Venice, FL), and S Blake Stewart (Atlanta).
- One sneaky retention we haven’t talked about- OL Tommy Kinsler (Ocala, FL). He had a great spring.
Disagree. He was pretty open about Patterson potentially being a good player in the future and it was unfortunate it didn’t work out here.Lol this **** is comical cause this is the same type of guy that you’d have a write up saying how you’re ok with him hitting the portal and we’re not losing much if he was transferring from Miami. I can see it now, “JUCO grad transfer who regressed and saw the writing on the wall”, “was getting passed up by (insert Freshman)”.
I shouldn’t keep responding to this, but the last line of my Ny Carr post when he left was, “This is a player I would target if I were another team.”Lol this **** is comical cause this is the same type of guy that you’d have a write up saying how you’re ok with him hitting the portal and we’re not losing much if he was transferring from Miami. It actually wouldn't be that big of a surprise. The current landscape of college football is very quickly turning into P2 vs everyone else. That will play out in the portal as well as high school. It isn't a referendum on Mario's recruiting ability, just the opposite actually. The only thing that is keeping us in many of these battles is Mario's recruiting prowess and of course UM has a storied history and an enduring brand. It also doesn't hurt when players visit and see a vibrant and gorgeous tropical city with great weather etc. Those things are keeping us in it for many of these kids but it will become increasingly difficult to keep up. The silver lining to all of this is that we won't remain in this colostomy bag of a conference for long. I fully expect us to land in the BIG. When that is announced it's going to be glorious. There are always going to be kids who will only want to play for the SEC SEC SEC but that cannot be helped.would be a surprise given our budget and mario's specialty. but i would imagine if we miss on both, mario will go HAAM in the portal on offensive line next year.
You’re talking about 4 stars that the media and the staff has invested heavily in. Y’all have spent years hyping up Carr and Patterson, so of course you wouldn’t dump on them. But a guy like Karnley? Sure. A JUCO who cost you a couple wins vs your biggest rival (Bama) because of muffed punts? Sure. A SR DB who was getting passed up for younger talent? Sure.I shouldn’t keep responding to this, but the last line of my Ny Carr post when he left was, “This is a player I would target if I were another team.”
When I said the freshmen outplayed him in spring, that was true. But he still had a ton of upside. The big thing with him is getting stronger and more durable.
Okunlola has been injured which killed his development. I’ve been super critical of him and his cost. Just don’t know if he ever puts it together. Massive human thoI know for a fact that NC State, FSU and UFag reached out to Kinsler’s camp a few times since the end of the season.

I don’t believe that. Don’t think Jackson hasn’t decided final decision yet imo.
Right cause we totally turned away flowers by choice, and cost and him wanting a clearer path to PT surely had nothing to do with it...Seems like just yesterday we "turned away" Flowers because we were all set on DBs.
If we don’t land either of them…when? In May, or in December? If we don’t land either Cantwell or Pepe, then the “elite recruiter” narrative is officially dead and buried if it’s not already
Agreed the only thing that is keeping us in it is Mario and not the huge amount of money he has to spend on kids.It actually wouldn't be that big of a surprise. Last year we were one injury away from having to play Walkons at DB. Scott is going to be nothing more than a nickel imo.
He raises our depth floor (which we severely lacked last year).
