The Bank (5/6)

Kinsler, Samson, Minaya and one of SJ/Francavilla are going to have some massive shoes to fill next year. Hope they're ready for it.
We will and should be portal shopping for ONE OL preferably a tackle. The need to spend at center should be out the way and we possibly could bring in a tackle to push Samson and Kinsler as the book ends.

The names you mentioned getting good game reps this year will be key.

Agreed the only thing that is keeping us in it is Mario and not the huge amount of money he has to spend on kids.
The programs that we are going up against also have a ton of money so I didn't mention that. Why do you think we have to overspend? It's an ACC suck tax. You think Oregon, OSU or Georgia don't have huge pockets?

Right cause we totally turned away flowers by choice, and cost and him wanting a clearer path to PT surely had nothing to do with it...
like im tired of mentioning it but THE FIRST THING HIS DAD MENTIONED was um having a bunch of portal gets at cb i knew right then it was over.

Um didnt turn down flowers he went elsewhere and it wasnt just the bag

They definitely have huge pockets. But they don’t have Mario!

If we don’t land either of them…when? In May, or in December?

Were you upset 2 cycles ago when we didn’t land Juston Scott over the Summer?
Or last year with Hayden Lowe?

When are all of you going to realize that Mario will flip some guys in recruiting as the season progresses. Stop panicking over recruiting in May.
Ehhhh. We were like 1 for 8 on flipping studs last year.

Yeah I remember D$ saying from day 1 that the timing was bad for us. It tracks.

I will disagree with @DMoney 's assesment on Cantwell. Especially before the Georgia visit. The only place Georgia has made up "ground" is in the minds of On3 and 247 "clickbait" reporters that need to sell subs.

In the real world Miami leads. Either Georgia steps up to the plate $$$ and beat our offer or they can give him whatever stipend and beg only to see him commit to Miami.

Edit: The other option is that Cantwell
is in the Brandon Inniss plan where he takes SIGNIFICANTLY less because he really wants to play for UGA. In other words he loves Kirby more than I love my wife. If he is one of the rare ones then by all means nothing we could do.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, Miami WILL NOT and HAS NOT been outbid here. They have put everything into this recruitment and they wont lose because of a dollar amount.

Miami can sell NFL development among the OL with Mario/Mirabal just like UGA can, and we are top dog with our offer $$.

If he goes there then there was literally nothing Miami could do except drag his *** with FBI agents and lock him up at the Hecht.

lol dude why are you choosing to die on the Punt return stuff? that's not what he's being brought here for .....obviously he is being brought here for the nickel position which when he played soley nickel he was good. auburn moved him around LAST YEAR and it didn't work out ...... SOOOOOOO I'm pretty sure Miami sold him on the fact of playing the position that he actually projects well at which is guess what guys NICKEL !!!! not PR which you keep crying about. Foucs on what matters.
Amen. In addition, I'd feel better if we put a short and long returner back there and just fair catch the **** thing. After the frequent holding, roughing the kicker and push in the back penalties it wouldn't surprise me to learn punt returns overall are negative. Practice time is really limited. I spend very little on punt returns. And watch for fakes.

The difference is, that’s this year. Y’all are talking about and cherry picking last years stats. He got benched on every side of the ball he played, this year. Auburn boards were not sad to see this guy go.
This may be news to you but college and professional athletes have good and bad seasons. Scheme? Coach? Persoanl life? injuries? Who knows. Athletes also have good years following bad years. That's the bet here and it was undoubtedly a very low $ bet. Basicslly a near free look and see. An option. If he's no good he won't play. Try to absorb that and move on.

Agreed

if that is the determining factor then Miami and everything else is just noise.
From ur mouth to God’s ears. Idk if u do or don’t but u sound like u know something brother. Either ur close to this recruitment or u have boots on the ground at the Hect. Either way I hope ur right. Go Canes

what I know is that if this
is a money decision it will be Miami
unless UGA decidea they want to
match our offer which is outrageous that not even Oregon matched.

I cant predict where a kid will go or what is the deciding factor.

If its money Miami by a mile.
