Portal rankings:

2026 = #4
2025 = #3
2024 = #10

I would imagine the combination of the two would make us top 5 nationally the last 3 years. Nine players drafted in 2026 and what, 6 of them were transfers? You could have the #1 high school class and if your transfer portal class is garbage I guarantee you the results don't match the high school recruiting rankings.
With only one portal now
Hs is gonna be more important

I think it’s Mario’s job to make sure he doesn’t fall for that
I don’t blame Mathew’s
It’s Mario’s fault 10000% for not convincing him to come
This is on Mario not the kid

That's BS. Some people are suckers. You can't stop them from being a sucker. Seems to me that Matthews had his mind made up not to go to Miami a long time ago b/c he has to be going out of his way to dismiss Miami's last season, what they did in the off-season, and the OL development.

We're about to enter the heart of recruiting season for the next three months. Here is the latest from the Hecht:

- While Texas A&M should be considered the favorite, Miami remains in contact with OT Mark Matthews (St. Thomas Aquinas). The Canes are also in contact with OT Oluwasemilore Olubobola (Jersey City, NJ). Both of those situations could move fast.

- In terms of the big name guys, communication is particularly strong with CB Gabe Osborne (Oklahoma City, OK) and DT David Folorunsho (Chicago, IL).

- One name trending for the Canes that the staff loves- DT Ezekiel Ayangbile (Houston, TX). He is the son of former Pro Bowler Duane Brown.

- The Canes are looking for a second TE to pair with Demarcus DeRoche (Cardinal Gibbons). Things have cooled with Anthony Cartwright (Detroit, MI) and Jaxon Dollar (Charlotte, NC) remains a longshot. One name to know- 6'5, 220-pounder Jordan Karhoff (Columbus, OH).

- Ty Keys (Poplarville, MS) and Brennen Lacey (Dallas, TX) remain the names to know at running back.

- Two hyper-athletic, multisport names at LB that have Coach Hetherman's attention: AJ Randle (Raleigh, NC) and Jarrell Chandler (Knoxville, TN).

- The Canes hit at West Boca last year with Javian Mallory, and are looking to go back to the well. DT Jamar Thompson remains a strong option, and the staff loved their in-person view of CB Loia Valade, who moved to South Florida from Tennessee. He is a legit 5'11, 180 with verified 4.4 speed. Keep an eye on that name.

- The Canes continue to big-game hunt at DE. All the top names remain in play, with Jabarrius Garror (Mobile, AL) recently joining the mix. They are looking to make a splash at this spot.

The whole time I was tryna hype up Jaxon Dollar and said he needed to be priority I was told the staff favors Cartwright and that is where we are leaning.. Now things have cooled?! WTF, you have to be joking fr.. No words..
:ibis-roflmao-sm3:
This isn’t true. Dollar has always been a big priority. Cartwright was another guy we liked (more of an all-around guy) but he had a serious injury.

Typical Panicky Pete with the “let’s adjust expectations to top 10-15 classes”. Man up.

ND is on fire recruiting again this class. I have them ending Top 3, again. Does anyone really believe Folorunsho is really going to end up here with his ND ties? I didn't believe him when he said Miami was in the lead. I have never believed we are really in this. In this to raise his ND NIL, yes. Hey, maybe we do something very unexpected and money whip him. If that's the case, why not Matthews? A kid in this era that can't be bought is almost extinct. ND and A$M are spending huge money to get these classes of late.

I do like Duane Brown's son out of Houston. He would be a nice get. With our evals we could still end up with a great class like 2026. I just expected a Top 3 class with a handful of elite kids ready to compete stepping on campus. I never paid attention to #1 talk, ever. Go Canes!
Your constant Notre Dame fellating is embarrassing

I know these things can be fluid but I remember asking a few months back and it was more like Cartwright was ahead of him and they already had the other kid.. Might have been in podcast but it definitely is true.. I mentioned it in thread, I didnt even know Cartwright was seriously injured, so both prospects now have serious injuries wild..

A bunch of plan B's besides that DT and OT, which I am fine with as long as we land the Chicago DT and the OT, and get me DJ Jacobs (which I doubt) OSU doesn't lose guys that high rated often.

As of last week when Dollar was trending else where the rhetoric was “Watch out for Cartwright!” And now we have cooled?

Just for perpective: Indiana is ranked 48 in 247’s recruiting rankings. It is the national champion.

LSU — 41
Miss — 37
Bama —35
FSU — 32
Michigan — 28
Texas —15
Georgia — 13

Miami is no. 16

So we’re ahead of some very successful programs and not far behind some others.

Patience is a virtue.

Meanwhile @Peter Ariz today on the pod, “top 10-15” class lmao

This dude is such a clown lmao.

Literally he keeps repeating that we haven’t been signing anything but top 10-15 classs… entirely false statements idk why @DMoney isnt correcting him everytime he says that
That list is top 10-15 classes. Pete says stuff to get people fired up and drive clicks/subscriptions to his Discord, but not sure how the top 10-15 classes comment is controversial.

Clearly, the guy is driven by his insecurities and emotions. Probably a reason the sports agent thing didn't work out for him
