The ACC must go nuclear

First of all. **** FSU.

Secondly, the committee did EXACTLY what they were supposed to do. You’re supposed to pick the four best teams, not the four most deserving teams. Injuries to key players are supposed to be taken into account. Nowhere does the guidelines say “an undefeated P5 conference champ is an automatic bid”.

Anybody who thinks FSU should be in, please explain why you think a Seminole team without Jordan Travis would beat ANY of the teams that actually made it in.

This is not a comparable situation.

In the Big 10 Championship vs #13 Wisconsin OSU and 3rd string QB Cardale Jones won 59-0. They curb stomped Wisconsin and Cardale threw for 260 and 3 TDs.

If FSU had destroyed Louisville and the QB looked half way decent they’d be in the playoffs. But that’s not what happened. They barely scraped by because FSUs backup QBs are not Cardale Jones level.

Not a comparable situation in the slightest.
Oh please. They won. Teams win ugly all the time.

There’s no justification for leaving an undefeated P5 conference winner out to appease Nick Saban.

The whole thing is a subjective sham.

Because the ACC should fight for all their members and not just the ones in the Carolinas. Fighting shows you care and you intended to be a relevant conference going foward.

"Fighting" after the fight is over and done with...doesn't accomplish much...

Now, if you want to tell me that the ACC Commissioner should have been out there LAST WEEK like Finebaum/Sankey were, that's a different issue.

Your suggestion is just too little, too late.

True. However, Jones was terrific in the Big 10 Championship game and OSU beat Wisonsin 59-0. He was very good in the CFP.

Rodemaker was awful against a bad UF team. Glenn was embarrassing last night.

Based on the selection criteria the committee picked the correct four.
FSU won in spite of a bad backup QB. They still won out. That’s always been the criteria until today.

But, what about their D? Everyone wants to moan about their O, but ****, their D just throttled the **** out of Louisville. They deserved a shot. I guess winning with D isn't good for ratings?
Are they one of the 4 best?

The committee did the right thing and picked what it reasonably are the 4 best teams (argument can be made for uga but that’s neither here nor there).

The ACC is now just a relegated G5 league though.

I don't think FSU is a top 4 team but they were an undefeated conference championship. The ACC needs to show they are not just a Carolina conference or they risk the conference falling apart. The ACC must go full nuclear and in the public or else the ACC is done as a conference. This is going to be fun to watch.
ACC “Yeah that’s not a safety”

Bowl Committee “Yeah that’s not a playoff spot”

#1 You need to have marquee games on your schedule and preferably a marquee conference championship game too.

#2 You don’t want to have a significant drop off from quarterback 1 to 2. A Jacob Coker level quarterback would have probably mitigated this.

#3 next year, the 6 highest ranked conference champions go and then 6 at large who didn’t win their conference. If yall think its going to eliminate the issue (SEC and BIG bias) i think you could be wrong. When you start getting into the 1 and 2 loss teams for those spots, if you think the majority won’t come from SEC and BIG then we disagree.

If this were next year

Michigan
Washington
Texas
Alabama
FSU
Georgia?
OSU
Oregon
OU
PSU
Ole Miss
MIZ
You’re right about this, but my lord, it’s just the B10 VS SEC Invitational challenge like they do in basketball

College football fans: I love college football because EVERY GAME MATTERS, you have to win every game, it isn't like the NFL...

Same college football fans: Well, the team that just needed a hail mary to beat unranked 6-6 Auburn and actually lost to Texas IS BETTER THAN a team who hasn't lost a single game.

They did. By embarrassing themselves yesterday at the SEC Championship Game with ACC signs and getting mocked by the SEC commish on Game Day….

Yes, because he wouldn't have made the same argument if it was a Carolina team.
You think Corrigan is gonna shill for UNC, WF or Duke? No shot. For one the guy has absolutely no power. He’s a figure head who only has his career bc of who his dad was. Under no circumstances was any ACC team with a backup QB, who played like they did last night, getting in over an SEC team.

Wrong.

The CFP Committee did NOT say "Rodemaker/Glenn suck", they said "Jordan Travis is missing".

You could make the SAME argument regardless of the score differential. "Oh, but Florida was missing Mertz, and also they were 5-7."

Are they one of the 4 best?
Do you have definitive proof that they are not? Did Alabama impress you with their miracle win over a team that got monkey stomped by New Mexico State? Maybe the SEC isn't the power they are propped up to be.
