Yeah. Real juggernaut olines he was crushing.
I'm a Canes fan. Quit being so fragile.

First off, watch his tape and you'll see the reason why he's skyrocketing up into the top 10. He is 10 times more refined 10 than Carter was last year.

Look at his production. If there's one stat that guarantees first round success, its edge rushers production.

It's not like we faced the 93 Cowboys every week, does that mean Bain and Messi aren't studs?

You want to block him 1-1 and constantly send 5 in routes with Beck back there? Good luck.

Point was, this is their best player and the top prospect in the SEC for a reason. We have to have a plan like LV had for Bain.

Yea its insane.. They run all types of exotic stuff.. This video does a good job of showing what they do.. Obviously we know Zollers was backup and can assume they were more aggressive but gives idea..

Zollers was NOT the backup.

Sam Horn started the season as battling for the #1 spot and was injured in the FIRST GAME out for the season.

Beau Pribula was the backup who became the starter for the next 8 games.

then HE was injured and out so TRUE FRESHMEN Matt Zollers was thrown in.

Is it seriously fragile now to just point out objective data? That’s where we are? You said he did it against everyone, did he or did he not?

I’m making my way through their games. All of them. I started with Notre Dame and Texas and dude was a complete non-factor. That highlight reel you posted had a dropped interception where he dropped in coverage and a nice play in the backfield against Notre Dame, not one pass rush snap.

But don’t worry, I’ll get to those games against teams that couldn’t block anybody.

Very good team, well-balanced roster and very well-coached. Don't get lulled into comfort by some of their results down the stretch, they will be very ready. Here are a few keys I see. We can get by without one of two of them, but we have to do most of them.

- DBs need to play their best game passing off coverage, having awareness for where the ball is on busted plays, and sure up some of their angles in run support.

- DL needs to live up to every accolade they have received and win the LOS, and Lightfoot needs to introduce himself to the world. We need his length and speed off the edge.

- RB need to be on it in pass protection. Elko is very creative at blitz design and masking. I know some will have a meltdown, but Fletcher is the best here. He is also a good receiver, I expect a lot of #4.

- They are going to bracket Toney, similar to how IU did Jermeaih Smith. Somebody is going to need to step up and make them pay. Daniels and Marion obviously, but man, Josh Moore, if you want your name in peoples mouths heading into next season, this is the game.

- Their defense has given up some yardage on the ground. Be creative, aggressive and use pace and space to keep them moving. You slow this game down, you lose.

- They are a very good 3rd down defense. They are kind of YPP Manny Diaz obsessed with that stat, so you cannot start off drives -5 or -10 on pre-snap penalties. 2 and 5 needs to be your goal every series, not 1 and 15. Do the latter, you lose.

- Lastly, and MOST importantly, Carson Beck needs to have the game which has eluded him his whole career. He has won a lot of football games, but he hasn't WON his team a lot of football games. I hope he plays loose, bounces back from adversity and trusts his experience to make throws with anticipation instead of just a hair late.

- Dawson, empty the clip and talk Mario off a ledge is something goes bad, keep being aggressive and stretching their defense in all directions. You won't be able to live and die by Malachi this game.
uh what!?!?

Miami 24
Notre Dame 24

3 minutes to play in the game.

Beck is 34-5 at Georgia and Miami!!

who do you think was throwing the ball in those 34 victories?!?

We hope our dbs are fast enough to run with Craver and Encarnacion. I think we deploy much more zone coverage than normal. We haven't seen 2 wrs faster all year. These arent your catch underneath and rac only wrs. They can run by cbs on verticals.

We must run the ball. We haven't been a great or dominating team on the ground especially vs good teams. If we can stay balanced on O we have a much greater chance to move the ball and score points. Death by 1000 paper cuts offense is what A$M will want and expect from us. Gotta find explosives in the run + pass game.

Ehh. He had to play whomever was on the schedule. It’s not like the top players are playing top 10 opposition week in and week out. Just like you can look at some of our stats and see that we’ve played the 90th, 100th, 110th, etc units throughout the season.

It’s fine to feel confident in our OL while acknowledging that this dude looks incredibly explosive, with speed, twitch and elite bend in those clips.

To add to what I mentioned above..we can all agree we have a very good pass rush. But some of the teams we have played in QB sack percentage allowed:

NC State 63rd
FSU 91st
Syracuse 119th
VT 122nd
Pitt 123rd
Stanford 127th

None of that has anything to do with the claim that he’s “not just racking up sacks against bad teams”

I’m not saying he’s bad at all. I just haven’t see an elite edge in the two games I’ve watched over the past 36 hours. I DEFINITELY don’t see a top 10 pick.

Get ready for a bunch of this

I am not sure what point you're making with the ND tie score, that was a K and two DEs closing that one out. Interesting choice.

The criticism of Beck is out there, and we've seen it here at times. If you can think about it unemotionally, you can re-read what I said, "I hope he plays loose, bounces back from adversity and trusts his experience to make throws with anticipation instead of just a hair late." Those are things he has struggled with throughout his career.

Buddy if you can't see how good this guy is than I gotta think you're wasting time crushing all 22.
He soaring up NFL boards and will be a top 10 picks specifically based on his SEC film. He's Donavan Ez but bigger.

Also, just because those OL don't rank well doesn't mean much. We don't know how they attacked him or who blocked him.

Again, ask any scout worth their salt and they will tell you that Edge production in college translates better than almost any other metric at any position.

He's a monster but keeping searching for it. You'll eventually see it.

That’s cool. I’ll believe he can overcome his physical deficiencies against quality tackles when I see it. To this point, I haven’t.

Congrats to him on moving up mock draft boards though. I’m sure nfl teams will overlook those short arms (which Ezeiruaku doesn’t have) and take him in the first.

We don’t have to keep this going though. We’ll see how it plays out in 11 days.

He's very good. But like 26 is saying he's feasted on inferior talent.

Against ND he had 3 total tackles and no sacks. I'm sure he had a lot of pressures though.
Against Texas he had 3 total tackles and no sacks.
Against UF he had 1 tackle and 1 sack.

He's going to be a problem but if anyone can handle it it's our tackles. CC and Bell are very very good. The speed rush does concern me when he goes against Bell though.

'I talked to a couple of offensive coordinators that ended up in the playoffs and they kept bringing up Miami and they were saying, "Yeah, it's a it's a flawed team." team like, yes, they lost a couple of games this year, but if you assume you get their best when they're in the playoff, if you just assume that the uh the matchup advantages they can create for themselves defensively are unlike any other team in the playoff.

And I said, "Well, you mean that within reason, right?" And they said, "No, no, Miami's defensive personnel at their best present a matchup the likes of which we would not see against any other team in the playoff.

That doesn't guarantee anything. What it just means is especially like if I'm thinking about Texas A&M facing them, they are a top 10 run D. So like if they limit your ability to create third and manageable third and short situations for you, you just enter yourself into a situation once again where Marcel's got to throw the ball to win games. So he could do that or it could end up being a minus three turnover day.

The good news for A&M is they I think should be able to put Miami in a very similar spot to where I don't think either team has a ton of success running the ball which means it comes down to quarterback versus quarterback and then their quarterback's got to be playing on the road in Kyle Field and that's an entire outfit that Miami outfit has struggled on the road.'
