TAC x Patke Interaction

Cave moved to mlb at one point. Not sure if thats still a thing or he’s playing both mike and will. I’d like to see him on the field to know.
And I’m sure we will at some point. Fact is, there’s more to it other than someone holding him back. ****, when Carter was a freshman we used him as a blitzer when he got in. Most of the young DEs were 3rd down rushers. The biggest issue IMO is the talent recruited at the position which is all Manny’s fault anyway.

I'm trying not to be too judgmental here, but man the hyperbole is ridiculous. Failure is not an option, but if I'm not starting my freshman year then I need daddy to come help and publicly yell at the coach after a big win. Sounds hard as a **** to me.

Solid.

To be fair, I get what the poster I quoted was saying.

Still, saying he's going on to the NFL is a reach. Don't get me wrong, he very well could and I do not have an opinion on his play as I haven't seen it.

NFL, that's a tall order besides all but a few. Maybe he's showed the potential in practice, but if you're destined to be drafted, you typically see something on the field by now. Even if it's limited snaps.

Anyhow, this **** is like a bunch of women fretting over a soap opera. Nobody seems to know what the conversation was, an exact accounting of what went down, but everyone has a damned opinion. It's nuts in a very sad way.

Manny Diaz doesn't have a clue with WTF he is doing. LB position stunk during the Covid season last year and he still stuck 2 of his best athletes and football players at Striker with Gil and K. Smith. Meaning 1 of them was always off the field. Same thing this year. Amari, Gil and Keontra are the 3 best football players we have at linebacker. Draw it the **** up and make something happen. He rotates Flagg, Steed and Jennings in for no reason and even plays 2 of them at the same time!!!!!!!! taking 2 of his best athletes off the field. Mind numbing. I get that having Gil, Amari and Keontra as your every down LBs isn't ideal but its the best you have so make something out of it.

So you're betting because of where he lives that failure isn't an option? Man, must be a lot of NFL'ers from his high school or they all went pro in something else. ****.
It's a mentality. We'll see how it plays out. I'm betting he makes it one day.

Shut your ***** *** up. What other young players weren’t playing? Rivers started before injury! Williams Played! Kichens played! Brinson played! K Smith starts! Pope and Wiggins are in the portal! Flagg IS A YOUNG PLAYER, you moron. The fastest LB we have is Keontra and he was an instant starter once switched over. What the **** are you talking about? Jennings had 7 snaps and you’re whining like a broad. Fact is, TAC sitting on the bench isn’t some massive injustice when the players seeing most of the playing time are sophomores or freshman. Quit making **** up little hoe.
Mamamela!

Jennings is soooo slow. I started typing this at the beginning of his blitz on Saturday and he just reached the qb. I like the angles Flagg takes but he is too slow also. Plus, he gets a chance to pick off a ball on a deflection and doesn’t have the coordination to stick out his arms to grab the dam ball when it’s right in front of him. We need speed. End of story. We can’t get to the QB blitzing guys that walk right into the arms of a waiting lineman. And Manny’s D is about blitzing all of the time no matter the situation (I say that in jest as it seems that he has throttled back and we aren’t getting murdered as much when blitzing).

Unless these kids have NO IDEA what’s going on, they should get a couple of downs here and there. We typically play about 60-70 downs on D per game. Why not get him 4 and see how he does. If he is quicker and diagnosing plays, give him a couple more, if not, put him back on the bench. We keep the same core for the first two downs on a first and ten and then sub to a package if we force third and can sub. I suggest that we include him (and Huff) in small doses in the rotation, monitor and reward good plays with more PT. What happens when guys go down? Who can take over since we play the same 4 plus Ragone? This is another brilliant coaching move brought to you by incompetent Manny.

Jesus Christ Manny and his position coaching. Such a disaster just like his whole team

WTF are you playing a Walk On over any of the following - TAC, Huff, Chase Smith

If I was TAC, I'd transfer too

I don’t know how manny says which player is “coming along nicely and learning the system” when the longer his players are here the more they regress. It’s embarrassing at this point

Tirek Austin Cave, kid from NJ that Patke recruited. He should be on the field. no logical reason why he isn't getting any snaps
There’s one logical reason………..maybe he’s not good. Think about it, if the walkon is getting reps, that’s pretty much saying you ain’t good enough. Idk why we kept saying “TAC this, Huff that” maybe both kids look the part but don’t got it between the ears. As much as I despise Miaz, why would he clearly not play said scholarship player over a walk-on without reason?

14 pages on a guy that hasn't been able to see the field for a unit that is so bad that a senior starter was switched to DL.

Very CIS.

I wouldn't consider this helicopter parenting.

That’s exactly what it is. I have kids that play sports, not going to get into specifics because that’s personal, but I can guarantee you that if there’s an issue with playing time, they better fūcking work it out themselves with the coaches. That’s not for me to get involved with.

I don’t think he even played a snap on special teams. Think if you travel a kid and his parents make the trip and you don’t even have him on kick coverage. I assumed he did not travel.

Watch the tape. Flagg gives us very little, because he is not a good enough athlete or LB for that matter. Ragone, the poor kid looked like he was lost out there. He made a tackle because the guy ran right into him. If TAC can’t even make the kicking teams, something is up, and it’s not about the playbook.
And as a coach you see what you’re trotting out there, you should be working these young kids extra in practice to get them up to speed. Huff 3 years in the program and still doesn’t get it? Our defense isn’t that complex, every team we’ve played has it figured our

Same. Kid's HS film was so good in terms of speed, instincts and hitting. If we let him walk, then we better see what Troutman can do. He's probably even faster and edgier than TAC. I like him better than Flagg right now.

Seeing as the youth movement has saved Manny's job the last 2 weeks (and he's not too dumb to know that), its quite baffling TAC and Chase cant get 5-10 snaps to see how they perform and go from there

But this is classic Manny - whenever he is in a close game, he ALWAYS reverts to his seniors and guys who "know the playbook" instead of younger talent he can't "trust" not to make a mistake. And we all know how it plays out - Hall, Carter, Flagg, Jennings, etc. will be in the right spot anddddd miss the play.
