I HAVE TO think this is an issue with UM's admissions department. We simply cannot get juco kids into this school. The only ones who get in are forced to jump thru so many more academic hoops than any other university out there. Its worse if they go to juco in California. UM wont accept so many of their classes, yet will take kids who go to dade county skools. :ohlord:

No. We've had plenty of jucos make it as recently as this year. The SEC is actually harder for a Juco to get admitted to than Miami, isn't it? Remember the Sandland stuff? Don't they have a weird SEC credit rule or something?

Harder isn't a very good word. We just happened to take advantage of a loophole. Fine work by Golden IMO.

I saw you say this on twitter also. Can you provide some insight on this? Was it grades? Do you believe we pushed him out or did he realize he needed a place that would help him qualify (like AU)? Thanks!

Surely we can recruit good enough not to have to keep taking 5th year seniors that have not seen
the field for 4 years of their college career but come to UM and start...The desperation must end

I don't care how long its been WE ARE STILL MIAMI!!! That has to stand for something

I don’t want to go anywhere where they talk about reading. I want to get off the ball, hit you in the mouth and make a play. I will read sometimes, but I was watching some schools that were recruiting me this past weekend and they read so much that I don’t even like it. I can’t do that.

Think most of us saw this coming a while ago. Grade issues. If you are a JUCO and still having grade issues, that's always a huge red flag. Pretty sure the staff never really put all their eggs in this basket considering we have been working recruiting other kids, even when this guy was still technically a "soft commit".

I'll look for it later but he basically said he was watching teams play and ruling out those that employ a read and react style of defense.
