The dead giveaway that a family is chasing bags is when mom wants them to go leave home. As soon as you start hearing stories about the family thinking some KKK hotbed is a better place for their kid you know they’re bag hunting.

What they’re probably trying to do is use Alabaga as the leverage to get the bags up from UT or UbaGA or some other bag school. Alabaga might not be offering the family money, but they’re using the Alabaga offer as a way to get the bags up elsewhere.

Agreed. However in fairness to athletes, it should be mandatory for all HS and College students. Reality is most people, especially coming out of HS and college are making a lot of the same stupid decisions young athletes are, particularly financial. The difference is we notice theirs.
 
The blueprint has been crafted. Watch the same thing happen next year with our top recruits. Schedule your last official visit with UM a week or two before signing day. Have it leaked in the media that the last hurdle for you to sign with UM has been cleared. Funny how that hurdle is always approval from mom. Momma get paid and you sign with an Sec school. Majority of our top targets sign with the same four schools and three are in the SEC.

Wasn't sure where you were putting the phase change at. Ole Miss getting dinged in a survivable way makes some sense.

That’s how it always starts down here, and that’s why it’s almost impossible to beat the bag schools for the super blue-chippers down here. They start taking money from the time they show elite ability as 8 year olds.

It’s deeply ingrained which is why the “just win” guys don’t get. Winning helps. But UbaGA hasn’t won anything since the 1980s. They win the bag game.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat. Same scenario every year. These locals have the game down pat.
 
Miami needs its own bag game. Unfortunately the local media would rather snitch on The U than support the program.

Makes sense. How would you recruit differently?

I'm of the opinion that if we offer a local kid early and he hasn't committed before his senior season starts we need to move on.
Have targets you've been staying in contact with that are out of state kids and focus on recruiting them to Miami.

There's a reason why Coker got lazy taking out of state 4- and 5-star kids who ended not panning out. The local kids even back then were too entitled.

That said, winning may not get the all to come back, but at least it fills the roster with the guys just underneath like Brooks, K Smith et al. Then you focus on the few top kids who don't have the street agents already in their households and hope to pull in your fair share. We would be #1 in the country every year if we just took half the top 20 kids from the tri-county and mixed them with good evals of next-level kids.

Plus now you can add blue Chip talent to that.... Miami would be a top tier school like Ckemson/OU/OSU/Bama without the $$$ those guys pay.

And add to the fact they got ZERO pressure on Lawrence in the title game...They'll pony at least something up for Bogle, a stud edge rusher.

Word amongst several coaching circles in Dade county is that Stevensons mom got $75,000 from UGA. I knw several coaches at the HS and 7 on 7 level and most of the chatter is about that transaction. I am not connected in Broward but im pretty sure thats whats happening with Bogle. Parents pimping their kids future, is the common theme here.

Not really, dude. It's not what is true, it's what you can prove. In these cases, the culprits do a good job of funneling the money incognito. Would love for the FBI or IRS to pursue these cases, but at the end of the day, $75k is small potatoes and not worth the investment of resources.

There was a note that Christian Williams has gone "silent" to them since his visit to Miami. They seem to have no idea what he is doing next. They noted he had been interested in LSU but cancelled the initial visit. He has never OVd to Bama either.

so if he doesn't schedule an OV to bama we can make and educated guess that hes coming here.
