I noticed watching Agudes film at UCLA that he was an effort guy with violent hands but once again it was all about walking the OT back. Power and strength. The same happened yesterday. If our guys can’t win with straight speed on the snap or over powering a guy pressure will be an issue. Imo LT or Jackson should be on the field on pass downs with maybe Mesidoor beside one. Causing pressure from the inside. Lichtenstein and Moultrie should get more pt as well. Moultrie showed some good burst inside.

The DL room is deep , talented and will be a strength but Imo we’ll need to cause pressure with scheme. Stunts and twists to play to DL’s strengths and mix that with blitzes. The only real issues is we have a lot of guys with the same skill sets / strengths. But are raw in other areas. Just my two cents.

After reading through 9 pages of pure entertainment...I'm still glad we have who we have. You guys and your football analogies are laughable.

For our 1st game, the first thing I wondered was, are going to look the same.
Well, our coaches didn't let that happen.

We are who we are. We don't have the speed at LB that we need. Running QBs are going to be a thorn in our side, until we get that EDGE and LB core where we need it. We don't have it ALL where we need it.

I still think we are better... let us try not to forget that our defense was THREE STOPS away from being 10-2 last year.
 
my play book is thick and long. If these low IQ knuckledraggers cant figure it out, we will recruit guys that can. just think of this first year as cannon fodder, we will weed out the reals as the bodies of the gumps get dragged to the sewer. No one on this defense is worth more than fish food, but we correcting.

Mesidor is close to special , his talent is how balanced his game is. He’s good inside and out. He’s just not an elite pass rusher from the outside. Inside is a different story. He’s more complete than Verse.

Agude is a real nice player and was needed. He’s just a high motor guy, his pass rush move bag is just lacking. It seems like it’ll be a bull rush or speed.

We have plenty depth and talent on the DL but don’t have the guy off the edge who can win with multiple moves and get a consistent pass rush.

This is all I needed to see from Ivey. Dude had already been running with the ball for a bit and he just now realized it and is trying to change direction because, of course, he is headed in the opposite direction he should be

Yeah and for what it's worth, they did get pressure on the Bethune QB, he just....eluded it.

You learn in Pee-wee Ball to not let anyone get outside. To force the play back inside where you have help.

I know this is a picture but I remember this play as I had an Endzone vantage point at the game when this play happened. He legit somehow got sucked in.

Even the DE knows where the ball is and is headed in that direction.

And maybe this is just me being critical but I'd think after that he would want to make up for it.. but no. The very next play its like he doesn't want any contact. Just slapping at the ball.

His next 3 plays after the one in the picture:

1) Avoids contact and slaps at the ball.
2) Good thing it was a run because he was slipping and tripping
3)Through shear talent and determination misses this tackle.

Gotta agree with that take on Mesidor.
He jumps out on the field when you were watching the game. Guy is a beast and he carries the weight so well.
In Agude defense, while he might not rack up totals on the sack numbers, he'll get his hands right by the QB and affect the throw or he'll get a hit on the QB as he is throwing or just throwing. It was noticeable as the game went on those QB for BCU were beat up, as well as that whole team.
Agude fits the mold of what Cristobal like (and I'm assuming here) that he wants a bunch of players that thrive on violence, not just contact and want to impose their will on the opponent, just want to make them hate their life and take souls. If your going to lose to Miami your gonna be walking off the field completely just complete bruised and beaten up and that in itself creates culture, fear and a presence.
From my perspective this is gonna be a lot more fun to watch and even more prideful to be a Miami Hurricane fan again.

Verse is very very good. But he isnt like the kid from last year(name escapes me). The kid last year impacted several games and gave FSU a chance in a few games.

they picked on Ivey as much as they could until he went to the bench. they watched the film and knew he sucked.
