State of Emergency-NOAA Link in OP

Also, this thing is now off the coast of south Florida at 8 pm Thursday, not 2 pm Thursday. That is also a GameChanger.

It's definitely speeding up if you compare the 8 p.m. vs. the 11 p.m. The 8 p.m. ETA has shifted north for both Thursday 8 p.m. and Friday 8 p.m. Lets hope it continues to speed up over night.

Virtually nothing has changed since 8PM. The hurricane warning was inevitable for areas within the "cone", they just wait until it's 48 hours out. Are you guys new to this?

You guys know where Tallahassee and Miami Gardens are, right? And the storm is not expected to significantly affect either city, as currently projected. So if it stays the course, there won't be a single, literal concern for safety (no debris, no structural concerns) because the city will not have been hit. We're talking tropical force winds, maybe Cat 1...two days before the game. That's nothing. This all depends on where and if it makes landfall, IMO.

My biggest concern for now is FSU's travel plans.

Like recruiting, this **** is fluid, so stay tuned!

UM and the sissies like the ones in this thread are prone to overreaction.

The consensus has this storm missing South Florida completely. The strongest part of the storm is on its northeast side, which will miss us by hundreds of miles.

I can see panicky folks like the ones in this thread doing the typical overreaction and cancelling the game. Then, the storm will miss us completely aside from some rain and 30 mph gusts for a day. Guaranteed result.

Yeah, we might get it worse in Maryland. When i looked at reports earlier, it said Maryland like late Saturday, so it would knock out power and I would miss the game. Now it might come later.

down to a category 3.. 125 mph winds and it's only barely above haiti

a VERY good sign

40-60 mph winds in south broward and weaker in North Miami. There is no reason for the game not to be played. We get rain and wind like this on a weekend thunderstorm

It has turned much more north west. It will affect the area, if it stays on course or turns more. It will be gone by Saturday but my worry is FSU complaining about travel and ability to prep. Although are preparations will be hindered as well. I just hope they don't cancel it man.

Hurricane MATTHEW

This is the only link you should look at, and as you can see, nothing to see here right now. Just check in on this tomorrow and wednesday, if there is any shift west, then yes be worried, but if not then it is just the same weatherman bs trying to stir up something and give meaning to their jobs

They had the national weather service guy on one of the stations and he said we might not even get rain in dade county because the West side of the storm is pretty dry. The news weather guy immediately went off on, "but if it turns west blah blah"....gotta keep the fear up.

As of Wednesday morning, both the Miami Hurricanes and Dolphins plan on hosting their games at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.

If there is talk about moving the Dolphins game on Sunday, rest assured there is talk about postponing the Miami-FSU game if only because of travel concerns for the Seminoles and their fans — many of whom would be driving south in what is expected to be rough conditions.

Why don't they leave earlier?

I knew it. They're gonna ride that option to the last second as they're really just scared of the true hurricane unleashing on them in hard rock stadium!
