State of Emergency-NOAA Link in OP

Wish if they reschedule they would have dolphins play Monday and move game to sunday night rather then Monday night.

I was a student at UM when we got nailed by Katrina and then Wilma in 2005. Most of South Florida didn't even have power for weeks and no games got cancelled. **** they even declared the OB structurally unsafe and had to evacuate the upper deck in the middle of a game and football still went on.

Given that the storm will be long gone by Saturday, this game is going to be played if at all possible.

The only way it doesn't get played is if the State or Miami-Dade say it cant happen

The 11 pm advisory now has a hurricane warning, not a watch, for south Florida.

False. Broward and north of Broward has been issued a hurricane warning, Miami Dade has been issued a tropical storm warning. The path can change at any moment, but as of now not all of SFla is under a hurricane warning.

I remember them bringing in the makeshift lights for the GT game.

Yup, I remember this. ESPN if I recall provided light towers for the game because some of the lights on the stadium were damaged from Wilma.

I don't know why people were writing off a postponement earlier in the week. Hurricanes are unpredictable and a fast shift west was very possible with a storm this powerful. That's exactly what happened and now all bets are off.

I think right now it's 50-50 if the game will be played Saturday night.

The next 12-24 hours are crucial. There's still a shot it could move back east and we'll be fine but as it gets closer and closer to Florida that likelihood decreases. If this is still the forecast tomorrow night I think the game will likely be postponed.

If the forecast stays exactly how it is now, the top tracking models have the hurricane coming either within about 50 miles off the coast of Central Florida, or making landfall on Central Florida early Friday morning. Luckily we are not Central Florida.

We have the luxury of waiting till the storm passes. I'm hopeful cooler heads prevail...

The Dolphins moving their game would be insane. On Sunday, they are more likely to be hit in Tennessee then it still being around Florida

Maybe they are thinking about moving it to Tennessee so hard rock is available sunday for canes game

Isn't the hurricane suppose to hit Thursday and be up in the Carolinas by saturday? If that's the case then as long as nothing terrible happens during the storm I don't see a reason why we wouldn't play it will be past Miami by 8 Saturday night.
