State of Emergency-NOAA Link in OP

No significant change in the track, especially so far as South Florida is concerned, so I don't see why the decision to play on would erratically change?

On this track, the hurricane will be significantly off shore when parallel to Coral Gables and Miami Gardens, so there shouldn't be any cause for concern RE: the area or its structures. It's well north of Miami by 8AM Friday, which is around when FSU would travel...they could easily fly from Tally (unaffected) to Miami (not hit), avoiding the storm. Then, the storm itself is long gone come Saturday.

So again, logistically, the game should be clear to play on Saturday, with the hurricane continuing as projected.

We'd be canceling the game in solidarity with whatever poor city in central Florida gets bingo'd, and I don't know why we/FSU/the ACC would go that route. I have to imagine there's money on the line, not to mention the hopes and expectations of its players, students and fans.

We gotta be playing. And a very kind and polite thumb of the nose to those goobers who come in these threads spewing misguided opinion as fact.

Thank god the speculation will be all but over about 24 hours from now.

The only reason this game would be affected is if LE resources are short and can't be at the game.

As of now (7am) Delta has not cancelled my 2pm flight into Miami on Friday....so there's that.

LE, FD, Power Crews, etc. What are the conditions of the roads? Fly FSU into MIA as opposed to Lauderdale? Lots of logistical assets that will be heavily tasked to go farther North to help. Don't forget optics, especially in a presidential and senate election year. Playing devil's advocate here: Diverting resources for a football game doesn't look good.

It sucks, but it is what it is.

Not sure what thread it was but at least the Mets fan doesn't have to worry about conflicting schedules of the Canes & the Mets in the playoffs.

No misguided info from me. As I have said all along I hope the game gets played Sat night. Keep patting yourself on the back as we watch this thing explode. (20mb pressure drop in the last 12hrs)

Sadly, the Mets fan still looks in the mirror today and sees a Mets fan though. No hurricane can blow that stench off of your soul.

Jim Cantore is a sick sick *******. That said, if he's in Jupiter then that's the most accurate predictor that this is going to be a Treasure Coast problem more than a South Florida one. If you see Cantore in your city just call your homeowners insurance and start the claim now.

Hey this is a state of FL game and FL is very important in the election -- canceling it could be a mistake too.

I made the pilgrimage from Cape Fear to Port Saint Lucie this year, and as much as I love my Metsies - Canes will always take preference.

Don't be surprised if the game gets cancelled / rescheduled. The storm may not hit Miami, but there may be some perceived Public Relations issues if all of the east coast of Florida is under water and without power by Saturday.

So the only airport open (tomorrow) is Miami?

Do they have any indication when FLL will open back up?

Wow... lol.....guy's name is "Harry Sack"

Was saying all along i thought the game would be posptponed.. But with the system not hitting Miami there is no reason for this not to occur. They can spin it as a city coming today in support of something good.
