Hope this is true. Need an upgrade from Baker as well. Banda and Patke just collecting checks but Manny isn't firing his boys.

Those of you defending him...I mean even if we somehow choose to ignore the plethora of recruiting blunders over his tenure... what improvements did we see this year within that unit?

He's a joke of a recruiter and a decent coach, but in this business, you need to excel at both at a P5 school. He doesn't deserve another season.

Now at the same time, Banda has to go alongside him.

That is kind of where I fall on it. Especially since I know (hope) we are more talented than FIU, CMU, LT, a GT team built for the triple option, and probably Duke as well.
We should be a one loss team, at worst, based on assumed talent lol. Oh well. It is what it is.

Why is it always, “we have bigger problems...” We have attention deficit disorder and can only focus on Enos

Patke and Banda might not be the worst (up for debate) but they are bad just the same. Global issue needs a global solution.

Not going to comment on individual coaches (not point I am making), but since you refer to "global" issues...

defense was #12 in total defense despite a horrible offense. You can't expect a defense to hold up when the offense is turning it over on downs (last in 3rd down efficiency), giving up turnovers, and giving up field position on sacks (#127 in country). If our offense was better our defense would improve also. Some on the board also seem to suffer from myopia.

Imagine a top 25 offense to go along with what we have now on defense? I doubt we'd be complaining too much.

Best coach on our staff, needs help recruiting but far from our biggest problems

awful recruiter. good teacher of fundamentals. meh personality in dealing with people.

was hampered by not having total control over all DB's as most coaches of the secondary do.

having banda the bumbling bartender has probably done more harm to Rumph (and the secondary) than anything else.

I’m not a fan of Rumph. He can’t recruit for ****.

But if he takes the fall while the rest of Manny’s buddies get to keep stealing paychecks, it’s just another example of how completely ***ked we are.

No one worth a **** is going to join this dysfunctional staph

If coach diaz thinks coach rumph is the problem, its not coach rumph's fault that coach diaz is a 1st time headcoach and recruits dont have faith that this staff wont be here. If he thinks keeping his texas boys and just having ****inson and fields is enuff, he's better have some excellent replacements. This is why bandy was talking about going pro, but oh well, we'll just sit back and watch the UM rubix cube attempts again. Oh yeah, and of course, coach diaz already got the famous "vote of confidence" announcement from flake james.

Phase 1: is normally poor team play, Phase 2: fire coaches Phase 3: the old no balls flake james "vote of confidence" announcement, Phase 4: hire new coaches and talk/hype up how Miami is a place where excellence is expected, and the new additions to the coaching staff bring that, Phase 5: Initial and minimum improvement, buys possibly 2 more years, Phase 6: more excuses after unecessary losses, lame duck status approaching, Phase 7: Yall know the rest

i actually laugh out loud now when i read people talk about this “teacher of fundamentals” angle that appeared when his recruiting got called out. guy was a HS coach, and his players have all failed in the NFL.

where do u people come up with this **** 🤣🤣

After another disappointing loss for the Miami Hurricanes, it seems head coach Manny Diaz's staff could be getting quite the makeover during the offseason.

Multiple program sources have told CanesInSight that Hurricanes' cornerbacks coach Mike Rumph is not expected to be retained on Diaz's staff going into 2020.

This news follows a report yesterday from the AP's Tim Reynolds that offensive coordinator and QB coach Dan Enos is also not expected back on staff next season.

The Canes finished an underwhelming 2019 season on Thursday amid a ton of questions about the future of the program. After being shut out by Louisiana Tech 14-0 in the Independence Bowl and ending the year at 6-7, Athletic Director Blake James released a statement late last night on his Twitter account backing Diaz, adding that he expects changes to be made within the program.

"Manny Diaz is the right leader for our program, but clearly changes are necessary and expected," James said. "Manny is in the process of making a full assessment of the football program, including coaches and staff."

As for Rumph, he has spent the last 4 seasons coaching the UM cornerbacks. A member of the Hurricanes’ 2001 national championship team, Rumph returned to his alma mater in 2016 after spending the previous three seasons as the head coach at American Heritage High School.

How in the Fck is Banda & Patke safe

The whole defensive staff is trash. Patke is useless. Can't recruit LBs for ****. Banda continuously loses his top targets just like Rumph. Baker is nothing to write home about either.

Pretty much the whole program is **** and nobody currently associated with it should remain in Coral Gables. Burn it all to the fvkcing ground.

Lets be real ppl say he cant recruit he has christian williams, al blades, dj ivey in his recruiting room all 4 star players. Tyson Campbell, PS2 were NEVER coming here! His biggest mistake was waiting on those kids they were frontrunners in high school what make u think they not gonna front run in college. PS2 was so much of a frontrunner he didnt sign with LSU because he didnt want that work corey raymond the best DB coach in the nation yea i said it better than nick saban.
