Sources: Rumph not expected to be retained on staff

Banda sucks at recruiting too and should be gone. For all the misses we have in recent years we might as well just have 1 db coach... clean house, no one deserves to be here after we have experienced 13 losses in the last 2 years
Yea, but going around to each thread as Rumph's knight in shining armor isn't proving anything. We all know that him and Banda BOTH suck. You just have to pop up to defend Rumph in every single thread.

Can both coordinators and start over. We will lose some good assistants, but it's worth it in the end. No good OC or DC is going to come here and not demand the freedom to handpick his staff.

Walk Baker out, but throw Enos' sh*t out in the parking lot.

Lol just fire manny you goofs. He's been on staff for 4 years but just realized rumph wasn't worth a ****? Gtfoh

If he gets rid of rumph, he needs to get rid of everyone else on D, minus stroud. On offense he needs to get rid of everyone other than hickson and Field. So who does this bum hire now when he doesn't know anyone and "miami is broke we ain't go no money." according to the BOT.

Reading some of this bull**** is beyond hilarious. 1st you wanted the guy gone now your saying " if he's the scapegoat" this is a punk move. Open your eyes and not your mouth and you would realize this was going to happen eiether way

It is the rhetoric. Banda the bartender is an easy target for jokes and has been whether he is good or sucks.

This is a thread about Rumph. Bandy has regressed.

LB: McCloud is shirting. Pinckney and Shaq played fine all year. No depth. Injuries. Poor recruiting. It’s Baker’s year 1. Rumph has been here.

Safety: Back to back seasons replacing senior starters. This year we replaced senior starters with inexperienced players that made young player mistakes and Bolden from the portal. Bolden wasn’t eligible and then got hurt.

Wait are you implying that CB didn't have to replace any players ?? MJ still here ??
Or are you basing it on Bandy regressing alone? Well then we should fire the DL coach! Garvin regressed!
LB's...poor recruiting who is responsible for that?
Why is he redshirting McCloud if we have no depth?

The only thing Banda did better than Rumph was recruit the bottom of the barrel better. The Safeties he brought in no one wanted besides one power 5 school.

If we took guys that were comparable to Amari Carter and Brian Balom over the last 4 years and let Rumph develop them we would be much better off. Whether it's his fault or not he didn't offer guys timely, didn't land the guys he did offer, and questionably offered guys like Hodges and didn't offer Delancey and similar players over his tenure. It was recurring. He saved his job a year ago landing Christian Williams.

Bhurt spinning up the manny spin machine

He’s worse, look at all his decommitments just in the last 3 years alone. Not even going to talk about the flat out misses in stevenson/Jordan battle. Losing too many guys in the secondary

Banda decommits from elite safeties
josh jobe
Ladarius tennisson
Avantae williams
James Williams
Jaiden Francois

rumph decommits from elite cbs
Chris Henderson
Can't get decommits if they never commit, 4D chess

If Diaz's new staff is
OC: Bedenbaugh
CB: Corey Raymond
DL: Kevin Patrick
DB: Ed Reed

I'll pretend this season didn't happen

Don't be silly. Manny and Blake are the problems. These are superficial and scapegoat changes. See Coker in 2005 after the peach bowl.

It's not personal for me at all. I do agree that Rumph needs to be fired. I just think that Banda is more deserving of being fired.
Completely Disagree and I really cant understand how someone would come to that conclusion. Banda is not great but hes clearly better than Rumph. If you had to chose between the 2 and ur choice was to fire banda your just ignoring facts and are chosing based on other factors.

Just compare depth @ S vs CB. We're currently suppose to have 9 CBs on the roster-we have 5, and 2 of them are TF. One of them is about to enter the draft, so that leaves 2 CBs going into next yr with any meaningful playing experience. How is that not a fireable offense? Banda is currently a top 20 recruiter in the country according to 247. He's also a better developer of talent than Rumph. 2 of his S have been selected in the 4th rd of the NFL draft, and look at Knowles this yr. There is simply no way an unbiased, objective person could ever make the argument that Rumph & Banda are both equally bad.

They are equally bad. One is a better at teaching, the other is trusted with teaching the most important position in Diaz defense. They are both subpar.
Edit:
I'll also add this; one coach has a Championship ring as a player, experience in the NFL, a state ring as a coach, and has played under many respected coaches. The other one's football experience is limited to what he learned in..D2 ball? And whatever he learned through Manny. They both have severely unimpressive resumes as a p5 coach.

The BIGGEST thing, however, is that you limit the pool of quality coaches that you can bring in by not just firing both. What quality coach/recruiter can we expect to bring in but possibly demote him from Secondary Coordinator/DB Coach to be simply a CB coach? Are we just hiring a full time ST coach and letting Banda coach CBs as well? Don't see how firing JUST Rumph will lead to improvement.

Probably not smart but at this point I’d just roll the dice everywhere. Brady as OC and pick your staff. Raymond or Simpson as DC and they pick their staff. Either everything is a miss, someone hits and you have the guy needed, or both hit and you look genius.

Banda has pulled 4 4 stars in the last 3 cycles and bubba bolden. Not saying hes great but hes alot better then rumph. Rumph got really lucky in 18, a cycle that included Gores cousin(Frierson) and Al Blades Jr. Pretty difficult job getting a Blades family member to go to Miami.

Wrong Brevin and Tate pulled Bubba from USC and if Banda pulled 4 4* recruits then why in the holy **** our we relying on Knowles the depth?

And on top of it, I’m not even sure we can blame it all (or mostly) on coaching anymore. It’s was comforting to think that if not for D’no, UM would’ve been relevant under golden because of talent. And if not for OC richt um would’ve been relevant under richt, because of talent. But fvck.. these players lost to fiu. They didn’t look any stronger or faster than LaTech....

Why should we be assuming that the talent is there anymore?
You're not wrong, but they certainly have more talent than those teams. But this is a ground up rebuild and everyone wants to immediately be competing with Clemson. They need to take this in steps, which was a main failure of Manny's idiotic off-season.
1) Back to basics... scheme, effort, etc. Get rid of the chains, the rings, the dancing, the TNM, the old Miami. Focus on what is important instead of your outfit for getting off the bus or your instagram story. That nonsense is not winning a game or getting anyone drafted.
2) Rethink our recruiting strategy from top down... At this point the top local 2021 guys are not even putting us in their top 5-10. That is incredible. But don't waste resources or time on them beyond the base level in case of a fluke. Make sure you cast a wide net and are not scrambling at the last hour as usual, and find those next tier guys that fit our scheme, play to their strengths, and develop them.
3) Win the games you're supposed to. Fortunately, in the ACC and with our schedule that should be good for 9 wins almost overnight. I italicize should because that is what this year was supposed to be.
4) Do that for more than one year, and in the process develop players/get them drafted higher than the 7th round.
5) Then start thinking about landing the bigger local fish and catching Clemson.

Manny is your standard Miami BSer... all talk, no action, and no idea what kind of hard work goes into being successful. This ******* thought he was going to roll in on a yacht and win everything. Then we wonder why our guys thought they would roll into the FIU game with a U on their helmet and automatically win. We should have won 9 games this year off of schedule alone and it is clear Manny has absolutely no idea how to fix this mess that he helped create.

Listen here, just get rid of both and go get someone like Derek Ansley as the db coach/co dc. He’s an elite recruiter and can coach

Love Ansley. Grade A coach and person, spent a lot of time with him and know him well. But he is loyal to Pruitt and they are paying him a TON. Don’t think that’s realistic.

Bubbas hurt thats why. Hall is playing, smith is redshirting, and harrell and washington arent on campus.

Agree with everything you just said. Except maybe expecting to compete w Clemson. I think most of us just want to see UM beat teams it out-talents. 9 wins should be easy based on the talent. But that gets back to the point.... do we have the talent we think we do?
