The DL used a lot of Tuff, Bear, 4i technique fronts. Mesidor is a perfect fit as a guy who can play anywhere from the 4i, 5, 7, even standup 9.Guys like mesidor is he a stand up edge guy dropping in coverage or is he he one of the dts?
How do you guys see our current players fitting in
In term of position
I think this system is perfect since it doesn’t need an lot of dts
And it’s perfect for guys like Malik Bryant as and edge guy who’s fast enough to run with rbs in coverage
And I was worried this system wouldn’t work against a big boy team that would just over power them but what they did to notre dame was very impressive
You probably don’t want doing the NT responsibilities in a Tuff front, but he has played that as well.
The simulated pressure packages they ran are fairly similar to things Georgia would do. Roman saw them faking blitzes and bringing only 3-4 multiple times.
Personally, I charted them bringing five more often than not on money downs, but just the fact you can find so many different instances on his tape is intriguing and encouraging for me.
It’s not solely that they run fun coverages and disguised fronts, it’s that they’ve had RESULTS. I love potential and upside as much as anyone, but what I really want from Miami players is for them to actually produce in college.
Same thing with the scheme. Don’t care what we run as long as it produces.
