Lol it’s not because of lack of speed. We just don’t try for explosive plays. We barely throw deep at all. Lately we made some attempts. We dink and donk all game. It’s not because we lack speed. Our guys beat coverage deep often and we throw short. Not sure if TVD is being told to look short or he just scared, but we gotta be more aggressive. That’s why we got stopped so much in the second half VS UNC. They came up and took away the sort routes. I mean, have we even thrown 1 ****** SCREAN to a RB all season?!!The speeeeeeed that some said wasnt big deal, yea we NEED it BAD
I think we ran our first one against VT last game, smh.. lolLol it’s not because of lack of speed. We just don’t try for explosive plays. We barely throw deep at all. Lately we made some attempts. 2 TDs. 2 FGs.Things are better offensively, buy we still have to work way too hard for every score.
We averaged 10 plays per drive on our 3 TDs and if not for a circus catch by Young early it would have taken more.
Only problem is we have played mostly garbage teams.both of those them have played tougher opponents.unc is probably the best we played and they aren't all that and a&m looked like a better team before the season started. As rough as it is, our stats for total offense and total defense are better than the other two in state schools in FSU and UiF.
Problem with comparing the two our first 6 last year were about twice as hard of a schedule as thisBy comparison; last season by week 6:

Now, I don’t know where to find explosive play stats, so I didn’t include them, but I’m going to assume we had more explosive plays by game 6 than today. However, just wanted to give some perspective on how we started halfway last yr, & while some of these final number stats did improve, others declined.
In essence, this is the same team minus two collegiate playmakers in Harley & Rambo. Hopefully w the new found love fest Tyler has w/ Young, we’ll see some explosive play improvements, but 7-5 last yr wasn’t a fluke; if anything it was more of a fluke to be 7-5 vs 5-7.

Our biggest issues in my opinion is the fact we have like no playmakers whatsoever, it's difficult to just constantly dink and dunk your way down the field. When you don't have any guys that can take a slant for 70 yards to the house or a Deep ball threat that can catch a 50 Yard bomb then out run the secondary you will have issues. Here are some stats. Include Cam Harris in that. Cam had 2 50+ runs in the first 5 games last year. We've had 1 30+ yd run since he got hurt 13 games ago
Parrish/Knighton/Thad have 3 30+ runs on 540 career carries - with a long run of 40 yds. They give maximum effort - but they're incapable.
Re-read what I just wrote before replying with a response blaming the OL
Ben Simmons will hit a 3 before we bust a 30 yd run. Unless....UNLESS.....we unleash Lucious
Oh I agree; Cam gets flack, but he was a tough SOB here & was DEFINITELY the better out he & Lingard.
