Defensively the numbers are much better compared to the offense. What's odd is, the DL based on numbers are very good and typically this only helps out your secondary, but we are atrocious on the backend. If we had just an average, or slightly above average DL, the numbers against the pass would be downright pitiful.

They aren’t getting explosive plays on offense and they are giving them up on defense smh

And you were being mean to RVA about it and all RVA was trying to do was help Cway out.
😞
I was more so shocked RVA even had to ask. Should have just called Cway a dummy and fixed it.

Giving up big plays and not getting them will get you where we are.

Our defensive line should be carrying this defense.

If you just stop the coverage busts, and let the #1 sack % in the nation do its thing....

We are stout against the run for the most part as well.

We all know how this has gone in the past with Clemson, but you'd think a lot of pressure and a stout run defense would at least make the D competitive against them (Offense and winning the actual game different story) without being a disaster on the back end.

Taking away the run and pressuring DJU is the recipe there imo.

We #1 in the nation in sack% and are 128th in yards per pass attempt. (Craziest stat i've read since the No'D days)

All because of confusion in the backend.

Thats either:

A) Excruciatingly damning
B) Actually a reason to believe we improve mightily once we grasp the defense

I'd love to see this stat without those 4 MTSU 75+ yard TDs.

But it's actually impressive how many f ups our DBs have had

we can move within the 20s but can't score.

the run game is it what it is. we can't run on anyone esp w the OL injuries and RB injuries now.

glad to see the pass game come alive again but still have to put up points. 20 and 24 are bad numbers to defenses that aren't good at all.

The Redzone offense and the long bombs on defense are back breakers, everything else is actually pretty solid.

we also dont have any explosive plays or quick strikes for chunk gains. gotta find a way to create those

Changing our heavy formations immediately when in the redzone every time isn't helping.
