No explosive plays on offense and we give up explosive plays on defense. That is all you need to know.
If we could cut these in half and be in the 50th-75th range, we probably only have one loss right now, maybe none.

We have nearly 1000 yds of O in the last 2 games and less than 50 combined points.

For comparison, Tenn and Bama combined for about 1000 yds of O this week and had twice as many points.

Big plays win games and we are lacking big time.

I'd love to see this stat without those 4 MTSU 75+ yard TDs.

But it's actually impressive how many f ups our DBs have had
Between the horrid play of our secondary and recruiting struggles, it's only a matter of time before Addae's seat warms.

RZ conversions win games as well. Another area that's sorely lacking.

’Total’ stats are often misleading. The ones that stand out are yards/play and conversion %s.
Our stats on offense for those categories must be abysmal.

Reality has set in. What a high in the offseason, and what low when the rubber meets the road.

Tldr: we don’t create explosive plays and give up too many big plays on defense. We can’t run the ball or score in the red zone.

That about do it?

The lack of big plays on O and giving up big plays on d are why we are bad. The other stats don't matter when we have no big plays and we give everything away on one play.

yep. This message board idea that you don’t need some level of creativity and mismatch strategy within the RZ flies in the face of nearly every successful offense you see in the NFL or against near evenly matched teams in college.

Fine, it’d be nice if we could just line up and run people over or ‘execute’ relatively straightforward plays into the EZ. But, no one finds it ironic that many of the best teams go out of their way to find mismatches or, ****, in the NFL you’ll see the Chiefs (with a ton of talent) run a backup TE under center. UTenn this past weekend ran an absolute beauty of a shuffle for a 2PT conversion. Yeah, talent and players obviously matter. Creativity and scheme strategies matter, too. Hopefully, we will continue to adjust.

Those 3 things, plus these 3 things:

1. Tyrique's fumbled punt
2. TVD's first two MTSU passes
3. Rooster's fumble

Those 3 things don't happen, we are undefeated.
If we want to look at it this way, then we lose to VT Saturday. Countless drops by them. Avantae’s fumble recovery - bad break for them…

We convert 3 more RZ attempts to TDs and our season looks different. Our red zone offense needs a major makeover

Yep couple that with the fact that when we get into the red zone we dont score enough TDs.

Big plays change games and kicking field goals is for losers.

But but but physicality, bro. It's pretty absurd how Gattis still hasn't made much, if any adjustments to his atrocious RZ play calling.
