@OrangeBowlMagic been tryin to preach it
I think it was even better than Lane at Ole Miss if you really break it down
Again, I'll never forgive Mario and Guidry for ruining that offense with whatever the **** you want to call the other side of the ball. That was a national championship offense, period, end of story.
But yes, if you want the details, against FBS teams (so, 12 games, FAMU not included), we ran 851 plays. These even include kneel downs at the end of halves and games (please, no GT jokes included).
Of those 851 plays, 229 went for 10+ yards. 27% of the plays we ran went for 10+ yards.
93 of those went for 20+ yards. 11%. So, every 10th time we snapped the football, we got a 20+ yard play. For a good chuckle, FSU had 32 such plays the entire season. Miami had 93.
Just a quick, recent comparison: The 2023 LSU team, that had Jayden Daniels (Heisman winner and budding superstar in the NFL), Malik Nabers, Brian Thomas Jr., Kyren Lacy (RIP, but certain NFL draft pick), and Mason Thomas (NFL draft pick), as well as Will Campbell on the OL, multiple picks, etc, and was the #1 rated offense of the past decade by Pick Six Previews, had 98 plays of 20+ yards in 12 games. Again, Miami had 93 last year.
Any way you look at it, the offense was almost indescribably incredible.
