Some positives

end of day we are a transfer portal qb away from a playoff push with next year's schedule.

Same people are now going to say lets get coley even though he chose to stay with jimbo.

notice no one on this board really wants to talk about how we had a true freshman lock down one of the best wr's in the country. this team is closer than people think. it's just young and the upperclassmen I hate to say it. Manny of them are toxic and weak minded.
Why settle for Coley when we can rehab his daddy??

Or three and outs which (besides the field position taken out of the equation)is **** near as bad. That seams lost on people here. Always has been. I try to understand is it people who just don't understand football or is it simple dillusional tendencies? You really wanna take it a step further, what would it sound like on here if we had the SAME EXACT RECORD but we had any of our qbs in the game just chunkin the ball all over the field with little to no success. We couldn't move the chains as a result of all the incompletions and turnovers and due to the deficiencies in time of possession our defense gets worn out quickly and we get blown out in most games... What would it be then? Would the maddens of cis say our offense is now perfect but our defense sucks?
Any idea what Dawson/Mario’s rationale is for running condensed formations or a tight trips bunch set? When we spread defenses out, we suddenly find success both through the air and on the ground.

I’m not saying we commit to spread all of the time, but it seems like we leave a lot to be desired in the spacing department.

Never mind the fact that it’s harder to identify who is blitzing when you’re operating out of a phone booth.

We got dudes like Smith and Ray Ray who can stretch defenses with their speed, but we rarely utilize the entire field on offense.

I realize the strength of this team is our OL, but we don’t do ourselves any favors running into a 7-8 man box. I know you’re close to the program, so I’m curious to hear your thoughts. As always, thanks in advance.

I was less down after this game than others. I just want to focus on some positives.
Our talent level is seriously improving.

Jacolby George-he has shown up in every big game.
Wes-he really played well.
Damari Brown-he held Keon Coleman to 24 yards and he was victim of a couple of offensive pi calls the refs missed.
Richard-played pretty good.
Emory-Kid is all heart. The team clearly likes him. still not sure if he is the guy but that throw to George was unreal.
Jaden Harris- for a new safety, this kid is picking the position up which is important because JW is a mess and Kam is a gambler.

We are starting to see younger and newer guys slide in and play well.
Most imprtantly...

Team did not quit. Still do not have the depth at some positions as well as some glaring deficiencies in play calling however this team played its heart out.

The trajectory of this program is very positive.
Off season coaching changes and portal a acquisitions are gonna be key.

FSU should have DESTROYED us yesterday in Tally. IMHO we are getting much closer to being the team that we want to be.

The goal was always 8 wins and progress. Give us Tech game and it means 1 more win. Mario and the program is on schedule whether ppl want to admit it or not. Tvd sucks. 8 wins is progress.

Vegas had Miami at 7.5 wins. Team has gotten much better than last year no matter the record in my opinion. Miami is a another recruiting class and QB away from 10 win seasons. I’m still a believer Mario will get us there.
TVD wasn't supposed to suck. I'm not saying he was a sure fire 1st round pick, but his fall from grace in the last few games has been one for the ages. This staff really needs this kid to rebound just to save face. They have the stink of breaking him all over them.

Brother you ain't never been one of those people. Please don't do it now. I'm not at all saying he doesn't deserve any criticism. That's NEVER been my words. But let's try to be objective on what that criticism should be. You can only do so much when it relates to people actually wanting to come here. You recruit to the best of your abilities the players you feel you need. He does that part. So when it relates to personnel I'm never gonna complain. I've seen repeatedly with my own two eyes what Mario does for that. My only point is this season going downhill has directly correlated with Tyler van dyke ****ting ALL OVER the bed. That's not coaching. Especially not your head coach.
Cis didn’t give him a huge Nil deal and have a coach doing everything he can to keep him. Mario must’ve thought he was pretty awesome to get him to stay two years in a row. I mean he could’ve just said bye to him. So the fans “ think he’s a Hof “ why not mock Mario that same way ? He’s the one that chose him as his qb……twice.

I’m seriously asking ? I think that’s fair.

Young guys look good just need some of the upper class men to stay 1 more year. Get a QB 2 DTs in portal and the new frosh class this team can be good next year depending on who stays and leaves

Did anyone think he was gonna collapse like this after four games?

I know he flirted with Bama this off-season, what was his plan going into Mario’s first year?

After last year ? It was possible. Then mix in the injuries. Not bringing in a qb to push him or at worst be a backup was malpractice. That’s just facts.
i **** with you crib ... but no way the staff saw this collapse coming, and we all celebrated the staff for holding on to a player bama wanted/courted ... you don't bring someone in to push the kid under those circumstances, he was our guy and he wet the bed ... plain and simple

Lane brought two guys in to push Dart this off season. Sanders was expected to beat him out. So if you can “ push “ Dart why can‘t we push Tvd? The sport is built on that kind competition. If Tvd beats the guy out you have a quality backup that could start the next year. Not throwing a true Fr in to horrible situations. Which was malpractice.

He had good programs reaching out after Manny was dismissed.
See this is what bothers me. If we are building a culture you can’t have your QB threatening or leveraging two years in a row and us giving in to keep him. I also don’t know much about how all this works in the NIL era or how common it is across the board. But, if we had legit guys wanting in at QB and didn’t take them bc we waited around for TVD, that’s not a good decision. Can’t let TVD have hand.

we gave up leverage with the renegotiation ... after that we were tied at the hip

Appears that we pushed for TVD to come back and didn’t bring in someone to compete or push him….

That’s on….

Clearly Manny, maybe Shalala, but definitely not Mario… not in this thread…

Positives: MariBro defenders are strong with their defense shield

Negatives: They should be using that energy to pray he adapts…

I think hindsight is 20/20.

90% of this board was full sky is falling when the Bama rumors came out this offseason.

I don't know what QB was coming here to sit behind TVD in the portal. Pretty reasonable assumption for a portal QB to make.

I remember you saying we will be fine if TVD leaves. I'm guessing Pratt would have been the guy.

Irony is that Pratt would likely have been better based on the games I have seen him play.

Again, hindsight is 20/20.

Ole Miss had no issue getting two to come in. One being a starter at Okie State.
