Some encouraging performances

I agree with OP. I really like Njoku as well, aside from a drop he had yesterday. Kid is physical, hard to cover, and blocks like a fiend. He seems to really enjoy cracking back on some unsuspecting defensive player.

If Dmoney didn't hype berrios in every post nobody would know his name.

He would just be the slow white guy that Golden allowed to return a punt once.

I was impressed by Braxton's burst and moves...i was like where has that been all year. Kid has potential to be that Wes Welker type possession type receiver

Why Wes Welker?

It's natural to connect the two cuz they're both white...but if you dig deeper you see the fact that he's not as fast as the typical "feature" guy, has solid hands and embraces his "role player" status. Would you feel better if we compared him to Malcolm Lewis? same traits...

And, not to bust chops, but simply to clarify that there was an ongoing debate. Thought I was losing my mind there for a second. You've called him passable at LT and called for continuity. https://www.canesinsight.com/thread/graduate-transfers-jucos/94766

I get that you've meant "passable" in the sense we legit have had no other option. But, he's really rough out there. He should not be a consideration.

Nobody ever debated that Darling is not an LT. As I said in the thread, my dream lineup would be St. Louis stepping up and winning the LT job. It would be great to add an impact JUCO but those guys are very hit or miss, as we've seen with guys like Jahair Jones and Tyler McMeans.

When I say Darling is passable, that means he's mediocre. He will be solid some games and get beaten some games (like yesterday). McDermott at tackle is someone who isn't passable.

This is why I called for Miami to sign Reggie Bain, Darling's bookend from Central. He always had LT feet and he would have been a starter for us.

What about Bar Milo? How do you see him fitting in next year. Kid had a good tape in HS.

. Some highlights at camp. in 0.46. / 1.43 / 3.28/ When he went up against a speed rusher he got burned in 3.56 // 4.26

Despite the recruiting misses over the years there is some good talent on this team. The new staff should be able to have success early on.

There is some decent talent on the team, although not enough to compete with the big boys on a regular basis. That will change soon enough. The bigger challenge will be teaching the kids proper technique, and getting rid of the soft, ice cream social mentality.

Yeah. I still think it will take 2 good recruiting classes. The good thing is we play in the Coarstal, team can easily win more games than what their talent dictates they should.

He didn't look slow as ****. Stop it. The guy had the angle. Clueless.

The other part is he ran like 25 yards on a full sprint before the defender even had to get going. It's like our fans think our players should not only be faster, but also able to sprint for 25 yards and then still be faster than a guy with an angle as well.

Being respectful as a poster is a thing for me, but this is the second day in a row I've had to truly resist the urge to call a post dumb.

I see him as a guard. He has talent but needed a redshirt to develop his body.

I've been hearing he looks really good, he just needed weight. I'd expect him to start next year

DJ looked to be active with his hands for a young guy. Coach Kul could make DJ a lot of money over the next 2years. It's going to be fun watching our ends attack opposing teams OT's again. This is getting interesting very quick.

Go Canes!

I won't get into the coaching because we're on to Coach Richt. But it was nice to see some young players take advantage of the extra practices and build some momentum heading into next year:

Demetrius Jackson got some extended burn yesterday and picked up a sack. He is one of our most gifted defenders at 6'5, 250 pounds running a 4.7. It was also pretty cool to see that he donated his bowl money to a children's hospital. You know Richt loved hearing that. This is a guy who could explode under our new DL coach.

Braxton Berrios made two critical plays to set up a comeback and showed the burst that's been missing this year. I think the injury in the opener really set him back. He looked extremely quick in camp and was embarrassing some of our top corners before the injury. He could play a big role next year as a slot receiver.

Mike Smith got playing time and was able to force a fumble. He was one of the best players in the state before blowing out his knee, so it was nice to see him playing meaningful snaps again. He was miscast as linebacker and can play a Michael Sam-type role for the next defensive staff.

Sheldrick Redwine has been a force all year on special teams and saw some crunch time snaps on defense. He has sky-high potential and should replace Artie Burns on the boundary.

OMG....did DMoney just out Mike Smiff?

Demetrius Jackson is going to flourish under Kuligowski. He can be a terror off the edge with his athleticism.

I can't wait to see how much different a guy like Chad Thomas looks next year. He was in danger of wasting his entire career, and that would have been a crime with his ability.

McDermott needs to get in shape. He looks like a slob out there, and he moves like a fcking sloth. They need to get that dude tightened up. He came in with massive hype and just looks awful. He's been good for one kill shot on Kaaya every game.

Mike Smiff is a straight pass rusher, a natural. He needs to get up to 250 and put that hand in the dirt. He should be a third down specialist
