Expected Porter to be a larger part of the defense. Maybe his late arrival is the reason
Hope he picks things up. He embarrassed himself a bit on that one play where he made a very late jump at the ball, and then managed all of about 3 inches of elevation, while the receiver caught the ball over his head.

I know the competition has been weaker but 51 plays on offense (I think that’s the exact number) for Southern Miss is pretty good

In the 50s the first two games. Last year against App State they ran 70+ plays and games we lost like UVA they ran about 80

Be interested to see how this plays out as the season rolls along. Not saying it’s good/bad/life/death

I think the staff has essentially treated the first 2 games as scrimmages. The rotations will be much tighter this week and especially once we get into ACC play. I think the last 2 weeks were auditions.
I can guarantee you formations / alignments and plays will look dramatically different. On both sides of the ball. I know it’s a joke around here to say ” open the playbook “ but why would you show anything in those two games?

Happens to the best of tho fam. At least he was in position to make the play

Quick question that has not been answered yet in this thread: was Anez Cooper wearing a #37 jersey? Can anyone confirm? Also, does anyone know if Dan Sileo knew Jerome brown?

Just playing devil's advocate and I want to believe but we were only up 10-7 at halftime. I'm sure the plan wasn't for us to allow a bunch of sacks and have the QB force throws into coverage. Hopefully they unleash Brashard and Knighton because we lack any explosiveness otherwise for the most part.

The blitzing by Southern Miss in the first half 100 % caused issues with the ol. Tbh it was a complete no show by everyone in the first half, coaches included.
