What does no discipline off the field allude to here? Plenty of players can perform in spite of that?

Brooklyndee mentioned he was not going to rehab. I know he didn't do a great job with his playbook. When he got the ball, it was pretty easy to see his athletic talent. But two coaching staffs didn't trust him.

Biggest reaction I have is we better land McFarland. Can't go into next year with just Walton Homer and Burns...

I would think better chance to land McFarland with Burn's status up in the air and now possibility that Gus is gone. Can see the field a lot earlier if that is a big deal for him. I think Maryland is pretty stacked in the backfield at the moment.

Why is Mayes leaving with the DB's as such a question mark? Unless the staff has already told him, you suck.

Had high hopes for Choc but he hasn't shown anything.

DMoney hyped him up to be the next Darren McFadden.

He's usually great but that was probably his worst ever evaluation.

The problem with Choc is that he had no discipline off the field. Anybody could see he was extremely talented.

Sometimes kids become disciplined in college, sometimes they do the same stuff they did in high school. Unfortunately, Choc is in the latter group.

What do you mean? I don't recall him ever being suspended or getting into trouble.

I've never heard that he's a bad kid. But discipline includes learning your playbook, showing up to things on time, etc.

Choc was suspended from his HS team for academic issues. That lack of discipline followed him to college. The coaches just never trusted him.

I get what you're saying then, it sounds like he just had a lazy attitude. Oh well, onto the next one, although the lack of RB depth is pretty alarming.

A lot of d1 players are naturally talented, but what are you going to do to separate yourself or beat out competition that may be a little more naturally talented than you (choc)? Work ethic and self discipline plays a big role.

Take away the long TD run against FAMU and Gus averaged 3.7 ypc in 2016.

We might end up missing him next year because we're now pretty thin at RB but I'm not going to sulk about this.

Courtel is the only one that will be missed but not by much.

Its nice to cut more fat off the roster.

7 pages and no confirmation? Every single one of these guys is still listed on the official rooster.

Really hope Gus stays. I like having more options than just Walton and Homer, not to mention he's solid in pass pro.

Thanks to the OP for the possible scoop.

And everyone of these kids may be leaving, but until there's actual confirmation we just don't know. So I'm not assuming anything is a fact for now.

And who knows, maybe it's just a few of the kids out of the list not all of them or maybe it's just one or two, or maybe it's all of them. Who knows. Wish that there would be some kind of official confirmation though, either way

The only one who would have seen any playing time next season is Courtel and he's probably the 4th or 5th DT in the rotation. Definitely not worth the headache if he's as much of a douche as Brooklyn says he is. Although, who's going to belly-flop onto the pile ten seconds after the whistle and draw personal foul penalties now? Molten...I'm looking your way, buddy.

end of the day choc was overrated. my friend who is a coach i respect watched gray hs tape for 2 minutes on this site years back and told me "these kids on this board know nothing about football, this kid is not going to any D1 school and doing this at that level of football. He has no RB instincts, runs upright, plays some weak competition, and said a few other things i forget" im not knocking anyone on this board. the reality is im not a coach and most of the people on this board arent a coach or havent played high level of football. NO ONE expected gray to be as good as this board did.
