Simple but alarming stat

Posted this play as an example of everything that is wrong with 12 and why Cager was right. This is the play that 12 threw to Pope out of the end zone. You see that is obviously the dumbest option here.
Has beautiful protection. All he has to do is GO THROUGH HIS PROGRESSIONS. ****, same slot in progression sees CAGER wide open for a 1st down. Second option would be back shoulder to Wiggins on the again, 1st down marker. Or he can wait for a releasing JT for a probable touch down.
Last but not least is a two fer option with back running out of the back field to either dump to, or imagine this, run through the friggin hole that a Mack Truck could have went through.....
This is why 12 is the wrong QB here. He absolutely locks in on one option. For an RPO QB, that can't fly. Just have to go through progessions in an RPO O

and some wonder why his comp % is crap.

We kicked a FG cause he passed out of the endzone on this play.

Yeah, he was LOCKED IN on Pope from the get go. Probably trying to play " hero ball " and all that. And U can bet your last dollar opposing defensive coordinators KNOW that.

I know this porst will get down voted to oblivion but is there ANY chance Richt Jr can call plays better then his dad? As far as I'm concerned James Coley who I think ran a better offense then Richt did not call plays at FSU or had any real play calling experience but he was young and had ideas he brought to the offense and made Kaaya look like a top 5 pick. At this rate, Richt Sr is going to reach Patrick Nix levels if he isn't already there.
Absolutely not.

Lil Jon ain't even 30 yet, he has NO experience whatsoever & is basically a glorified GA getting paid a nice salary to just be Mark's son. He don't know sh*t about play calling.

In fact, David Cooney has more experience as an Offensive coordinator in High school when he was at Gables & Southridge, and coaching Florida Fire 7v7 Dade squad.

Nah, if anybody currently on staff gets play calling out of Richt's hands, it needs to be Coach Dugans or Brown. No more Richts calling plays.

But what we really need is a full time dedicated X's & O's technician up in the booth to completely overhaul this offense & get it out of Richt's hands for next 3-5 years or else these types of L's will happen every year regardless of how well we recruit.

The only thing Mork Rich is gonna adjust is his waist size as he eats like a king on UM's dime.

Can he lower his dosage of Ambien and appear awake on the sideline for once?

Here's the relevant stat: 9.67.

That's the average number of wins Richt put up per year at UGA over 15 years as head coach.

In other words, get used to 9 win purgatory.

That included a couple of his highlight years.... else it is around 8

First read should've been the quick out to the top of the screen to Wiggins. Easy throw, short side, first down

You do realize JT was doubled....like seriously ALL game right? unless it was shallow or underneath he was doubled
The picture I put on bottom of page two he was clean released with no safety coverage but 12 didn't wait a second or look his way. Would have been a TD.

Then you get it to him underneath! Get the ball into your playmakers hands and let them make plays.
You don't ask a freshman qb to throw 4 verticles on his first road start at the beginning of a game.

We have enough athletes at the skill positions to be able to take what defenses are willing to give us and run with it.

I don't think Richt adjusted after the 4 game losing streak in 2016, I think our opponents were just weaker the rest of the way. It looked the same to me, just with better results.

I don't see how Richt makes any adjustments to his style now at age 58.

I've said before - it took 5-6 years at Georgia before fans turned on his play calling, and I guessed it would take about 3-4 years at Miami.

When a new OC does get hired, I fully expect it to be an "in the family" hire. I'd be very surprised if it wasn't one of his former players (Brown, Dugans, or a former player coaching somewhere else right now)

Perry was awful that game. Go back and watch it. He had a WIDE OPEN Wiggins RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM with a good clean pocket on the 4th & 2 play. He pulled it down and ran. Perry was really bad. Like super bad

We know what 12 is man. He doesn't throw over the middle for some reason. There were more than a few plays that were there for the taking. He won't pull the trigger. Not sure what you can do with that.

screen, jet sweep or reverses. at least give the defense something to think about
We're so fond of all verticles, why not have him run a quick out while in the slot as the outside man runs deep. Its in the playbook. Its how we got down field with Berrios in the game winning drive against FSU last year.

You don’t find it at least curious that both of our QBs massively predetermine their decisions based on pre-snap reads? That they both consistently throw very low % throws?

Even when given time by an OL everyone likes to throw under the bus, there are countless quotes to back up that our HC/OC and QB walk into plays ‘thinking something will be there,’ and it colors their decisions. Look at quotes referencing the pick N’Kosi threw in his first game. Look at good throws - the 3rd and 10 to thomas against FSU and the Jordan TD. People say ‘oh, he looked the safety off.’ Nah. He more likely predetermined he’d look away to hold a safety so he could go to his pre-snap read.

Blaming Malik (or young N’Kosi) for being inaccurate or making poor decisions is like blaming an **** for burning after massive diarrhea caused by ingesting uncooked chicken burritos and washing them down with Mexican faucet water.
