Simple but alarming stat

Great post D$

But I’m sick and tired of being patient and waiting for coaches to figure it out while we continue to waste talented teams and players

The heat needs to be on Richt hard right now. He’s had a big enough sample size (over 25 games at Miami) to figure out what the offense needs and if he can’t make major changes now he needs to go.

The answer is simple. Be a great OC or get a great OC, point blank

My god, THIS defense with the #21 YPP offense?

Richt was all but handed an 11-1/10-2 team and he is completely ***king it up. I hope he is reading malik bible verses at night after they make *** love to each other.

True but maybe the play calling pattern is different and less predictable. When the QB needs to get in a rhythm Richt Sr's solution? Run 4 verts. Maybe with Richt Jr. He might actually throw some wr bubbles and get QB in a rhythm better then his dad. His play calling might actually have rhyme and reason to it.

Just wishful thinking.
IF there is anything that is wrong it's this. I think CMR still has a "feel" for playcalling, but his rhythm isn't there. Debate concepts all you want. Plays are called that should attack the middle of the field. WE DON"T THROW THEM

the AD or the BOTs need to have a sit down with Richt and let him know....

A.) Hire a real OC

B.) Fire your Son and get a real QB coach in there and enough with the nepotism amateur hour

a couple of thoughts, look how Saban has adapted in last several years on offense. he also changed players he recruited on D to deal with spread and all its variations.
excellent point on middle of field, FSU never used the TE very well neither does CMR
did not make any change in scheme till way to late in game.
maybe Howard can have a " dutch Uncle" talk with CMR before it all gets away from us again

He put Rosier back in. Dead to me

Same A hole that put Even Sherieffs into a meaningful game last year while we still had a chance to win said game.

That move last saturday, while horrible and ill timed, didn't shock me at all given what I've seen from Richt already. He has shown a propensity to panic and crack under pressure during his time here.

I know this porst will get down voted to oblivion but is there ANY chance Richt Jr can call plays better then his dad? As far as I'm concerned James Coley who I think ran a better offense then Richt did not call plays at FSU or had any real play calling experience but he was young and had ideas he brought to the offense and made Kaaya look like a top 5 pick. At this rate, Richt Sr is going to reach Patrick Nix levels if he isn't already there.

The issue really is this. There are a host of coaches that can call better plays than CMR. You can throw a dart out the window and probably hit one. CMR is doing exactly what he did at UGA and it's not good news for the U. I'm not going to summarize but check this article out. A ton of similarities.

If CMR decides to hire a coordinator or maybe promote from within they will still be running his show and his crappy system.

Richt needs to take one of the hardest steps any leader can do and fire himself. I'm not saying as the Head Coach as I think he could be an effective CEO type leader but he has to accept that role. What I mean of course, is specifically his Offensive Coaching and play-calling duties.

Richt needs to realize authority is a dangerous substitute for expertise and performance.

Its a question of leadership and doing what is right for the team. Its not about him. Its not about Jon or his wife. Its about the team and the program.

The evidence is in. The trajectory is not good and shows little signs of getting better. Its time for Richt to demonstrate true leadership and remove himself as the OC. If it means Jon and T Brown move on. Then so be it. An insignificant price to pay to elevate the program with a legit Offensive Coordinator and coach.

Its time for leadership.

Too late to make changes unless we're content on the ACCCG being our ceiling. We were backs against the wall/win out or have no chance at the CFB playoff (possibly even win out and not be in) and we lost. The ceiling is ACCCG and maybe the Orange Bowl or Peach Bowl.

Changes should have came after LSU and they didn't. Richt was so slow to remove Malik and go to Kosi but he didn't waste any time making the switch back.

It would have been understandable to bench N'kosi until after half time to settle him down and talk about what the D was showing but to not go back to him in that game was an abomination. Never seen anything like it with the ducks Malik was throwing.

Averages are ok but without context, they can give a false sense of reality. And paint with too broad of a brush. I dont disagree that dropping in average yards per play is bad. Just that even that 21st ranking under Golden doesn't really tell the story of the boom-or-bust nature of the offense and the results of the busts.

I'd like to see our scoring efficiency and avg. starting field position.

We also ran less plays back then and we’re down more because of how awful our D was, not saying we have a good O now because we don’t but all stats need context

We simply changed problems from one side of the ball to the other. We need to go back to the single back stretch run play offense. Our RBs are perfect for it. And like i said, i was not against Golden until he made it clear it was No D or no one. If Richt takes the same tact i will call for the same thing.

I was watching the Vandy v UF game. Vandy's offense is what i want us to go back to.

Honestly the term lethal simplicity should be used by cmr and not Taggart

We only run like 5 plays, can’t be more simple than that

5? It seems he runs the same 2 plays 90% of the time. Inside zone run on 1st and 2nd down, 4 verts on 3rd down. That’s it!!

An who is going to be the QB executing these plays? Cause both of the current guys are not getting the job done.

Fire Jon Richt, Fire Stacy Searels, Get a new OC!

Could you please refer to him as Jorn Rich? Thanks, and god bless

I'd love to get Coley back as OC.
I'm not ready to start running HB passes with Joe Yearby in the snow against Wazzu again. :k9yunip: No thanks.

If we're going to go with someone as a new OC to implement a new system and do the playcalling - there are basically 3 options w/o naming names:

1) Go for someone young but with experience and a system that's been proven at a few places already at the BCS level.

2) Go for an alumnus that's still relatively young in coaching terms, but has no OC experience.

3) Go for someone older who's had multiple stops but has shown the ability to run a good pro-style offense at the BCS level.

Those are pretty much the options. There's also the option that Richt gives up the playcalling to someone already on staff, be it Brown/Dugans/J. Richt...but I think that's a pretty remote chance...and would also have the fan base rioting even harder than we already are.

No progession 12.webp

Posted this play as an example of everything that is wrong with 12 and why Cager was right. This is the play that 12 threw to Pope out of the end zone. You see that is obviously the dumbest option here.
Has beautiful protection. All he has to do is GO THROUGH HIS PROGRESSIONS. ****, same slot in progression sees CAGER wide open for a 1st down. Second option would be back shoulder to Wiggins on the again, 1st down marker. Or he can wait for a releasing JT for a probable touch down.
Last but not least is a two fer option with back running out of the back field to either dump to, or imagine this, run through the friggin hole that a Mack Truck could have went through.....
This is why 12 is the wrong QB here. He absolutely locks in on one option. For an RPO QB, that can't fly. Just have to go through progessions in an RPO O

and some wonder why his comp % is crap.

We kicked a FG cause he passed out of the endzone on this play.
