Yep, kid could have gone Ivy League and played from the jump and get a solid education...at least he got his degree at UM!

Those two teams have tremendous offensive line and running back talent/depth. We don't. Richt doesn't need to learn anything, and you're absolutely clueless. Please delete your account.

Cincinnati. North Carolina. Pittsburg. A few schools with Freshmen QBs that have beaten Miami. Did they have solid O linemen? Delete your life.

When did UNC beat us with freshman QB? I remember losing to Durant, Williams and Trubisky but none were Freshman. We lost a few other games to them where I can't remember who the QB was.
 
Not surprising. His brother was also a grad transfer and the writing was on the wall that he wasn't even going to make 2nd string in the spring. Good luck to the guy.,

His brother was not a grad transfer. He transferred to UConn from NCSU after his freshman year. Three-year starter who quit because he had one concussion too many. Evan's only offers were VMI and a couple of Ivy's out of high school. And of course, Coley pulled the string on him late. I'm guessing he's head to an FCS school.

Excellent for him. Wish him well. Based on what we’ve heard from our QB gurus, someone is getting a top notch QB
 
Best of luck to him. This is definitely addition by subtraction. On paper, our WR, RB, and ::GASP:: our OL talent and depth are approaching elite caliber. I fully expect Richt to sign a top QB and a raw / high-upside QB in 2019.

This isn't out of the question depending on the progress made by Perry, Weldon, Williams.

It's possible that he not only loses his job during the spring, but that he's not even 2nd string.
 
IMO it was only matter of time. He was destined to fall behind Perry, Rosier, Weldon and most likely also Williams.

He was the least mobile of our QB's so he didn't fit into our future offense.

I also agree that soon Weldon may be gone

Didn't we have a player say Shirreffs had the best wheels of the bunch? It was more his arm strength than anything.

I see no need in bashing Shirreffs. He graduated from UM in 3 years, which is something no one on here has done, or could do. Especially not playing football at the same time. He also pushed Rosier for the job, which ultimately made him better. He's not a scrub, he's just not going to get playing time with Perry maturing, and Williams coming in.

100% agree.

I for one am sorry he's leaving, as his character and leadership are value added.

But under the circumstances, I understand what he's doing and why. Wish him nothing but the best unlike those nitwit DL who are leaving, who seem to have parked their brains in a bucket somewhere.

No athletic scholarships at Ivy League schools, so that might explain why we were appealing...would also be nice if we beat down some of the teams we should crush so some of our backups could get some play. We go into another season with only one QB with any playing time.
