Scrimmage #1

Serious question: Why not match up the 1s vs 1s for at least half of the scrimmage?!? That way a true gauge of progress can be made. Of course the 1 defense is going to dominate the 2 offense...especially with the nature of O Line and it taking lineman a couple of years to gel and get in game shape. Feel like we are doing our players a disservice by not matching up the 1s with 1s for a portion of the time.

I would assume they’ll do that next scrimmage. It gives time for the offense to gel a bit since defense always is ahead in the beginning. Don’t want the first team destroying the confidence.

The season is 3 weeks away. Don't need are 1s trying to kill each other.

This is exactly why i think they don’t do that in the fall and are more likely to do “good on good” basically 1s vs 1s in the spring

Is it really any different with the 2s trying to kill the 1's? Dudes are playing football and competing for playing time. You have to practice against the best to be the best. It's not really fair for the backup QBs constantly having to perform against the 1 defense with a mixed bag at O Line. How do we expect the Perry's/Weldon's/Williams to shine. Give those guys reps with the starters and see what they can do.

@DMoney and @LuCane need to change this forum to the sheep insights.. So sad!! How dare anyone question Rosier not being the #1 QB? I mean he is on all the preseason Heisman watch? He is rated as a 1st round draft pick next year. I mean the only way to be a true Hurricane fan is to show blind loyalty.

As for CMR how many Championships did he win at Georgia? I forgot about last years perfect 12-0 season. I mean who can question anything he say or does. Because, he is a football god. Smarter then Jimmy, better recruiting classes then Butch ever had? I guess these people all had their white shirts and orange ties talking about Al Golden’s genius.

So for all you butt hurt sheep keep hating.. But, I and other true Hurricane Fans will keep questioning a coach, and expect more from a team that has under performed its potential for the last 16 seasons. We are not going to show blind loyalty to subpar performance and players. Because we expect more and want more. 10-3 season is not up to Miami Hurricanes fan standards. Making progress is great for Duke, Pitt and UNC not Miami.

How do I know this, because before most of you were born I was at the OB watching us win a National Championship vs Nebraska as a student. So don’t tell me what means to be a Miami Hurricane Fan.

Go to bed.
I know, I'm posting this at midday on a Sunday, but you need to go to bed and cry it off.

They didn't do it in the Spring either...It was 1s vs 2s

Guys cmon. Hes being as transparent as can be. Some of yall simply dont want to see whats going on. #1 ALL QBS WERE LIVE EXCEPT MALIK... aka malik IS gonna start against lsu BUT were aware whats behind center. Were trying to see who steps up and is ready for the wolves.. aka malik is gonna have a VERY short leash. Is that the optimal situation? No obviously its not but it shows plenty of transparency & preparation. #2 for those that dont see the relevance of bubba. Go back to maliks completion percentage. Our 3rd down conversion rate & our red zone efficiency... aka bubba is gonna have to be money or we got a problem on our hands. The punter is starting to look more consistent in fall so thats a plus but he really seems to get lost in the headlights when it matters so well have to wait & see. Have a great day guys. Season is here.

Thanks for the insight, dee. Some people still want you to “show your work” when you say “2+2=4”, but many get what you’re putting out and really appreciate the insights you give while respecting your discretion.

Appreciate you man.

So f&cking ready for some Canes football.

I really think ARs drop issues last season were due to nagging injuries and that he’ll be fine this season as long as he’s healthy. I can’t stress enough how dealing with something like a hammy just saps so much of your focus away.
Yes I agree. I said the same thing in his defense in another thread last month. I think in the Syracuse rewatch thread. He had a few drops that game I believe. Definitely out of sync with his injuries.

For this year I am glad he is getting his confidence back...that's all. That..plus our WR depth can cover for one guy getting the yips.

Rosier has been the starter for one year and he had flashes of greatness and flashes of total ineptness. Now that he has one year under his belt and 9 months to improve, maybe he will be the guy were were hoping for last year. I prefer to be optimistic and believe since none of the other 4 star QB's we have can unseat him, maybe its because Rosier is so much better than he was last year. I'm good with him being the starter.
I agree, experience will be a huge advantage for him this year. Plus I think he had confidence issues last year and he seems very comfortable this year. Excited for him to make his mark

Let me get this str8: I’m the keyboard gangster & Douchebag bc I down voted/negging your posts asking about 1’s vs 1’s.

& you’re here doing this but I’m the doucebag keyboard gangster?

LMFAO @ the irony here.

I don’t have a reply for the dumbest question in the history of football.

Have a nice day

Maybe we got better scrimmage stats last season at this time because last year our first game was Bethune.

Miami’s offense bailed the defense out time and time again too now don’t be ridiculous

Down 14-0 uva, offense ties it up, defense goes down by 14 again and the offense score 23 straight

Defense giving up 2 late scores vs FSU and the offense then scores 2 clutch touchdowns in the 4th without Ahmmon Richards and mark walton on the field. Toledo offensive performances, coming in clutch after the defense was sh*tting the bed vs Toledo giving up 30 to them... that’s just a few examples of the offense saving the defense *** and they were multiple after that too

No one wasn’t perfect last year, malik rosier certainly wasn’t but doesn’t mean the defense was either though. Everyone needs to improve
Pick six turned that game around for us against UVA.

This post does not make sense at all lol. In order to be down 14-0 the offense had to have been subpar lol. Since they had multiple chances to score but did not. So you mean to say the offense finally showed up in that game. And for them to have scored 23 straight the defense had to have been shutting UVA down.

And once again if the Defense gave up 2 late scores vs FSU what was the offense doing at that time? Getting 3 & outs? Turning the ball over and hoping our tired defense who was just on the field can get a stop? And when the offense then scores 2 clutch touchdowns in the 4th what was the defense doing?

Vs Toledo was your best bet but you botched that one lol. The defense didn't give up 30 and then the offense started scoring. Toledo had ample chances because out offense kept going 3 and out. Our defense was on the field all day because of that. if and when our offense can put together some decent drives and get our guys some rest we ball on defense.. Toledo ran so many plays its crazy lol. But still our defense did give up 30 to them. I'll give you that.
Reality is that despite winning 10 games and looking great in two of our big game in VT and ND, we looked suspect as **** against inferior teams all year. Offense and defense would have spells of looking anemic. We made **** QBs look like heisman contenders pretty much each week

Yes the offense needs to convert more 3rd downs for sure, but you can’t blame that for the defense staying on the field especially with how much they rotate the defenders... they certainly aren’t tired and get their rest during the duration of the game

Bahaha...no we don’t. Better yet, explain to me why you feel you deserve more transparency because right now you sound like an entitled millennial.

AMEN BROTHER! Get that entitled BS outa here. Richt owes us nothing more than what he has already relayed. Let alone transparency. OCCC PREACH IT
