Relly the flipper... very interesting. I'm fully retired but I did real-estate parttime and I still maintain my Realtor license. I have many friends that did flipping like you... and did quite well. I agree with you about the long-term factor and the investment return... but in real-estate we look for dirt cheap deals. Thanks bro, & I knew that’s the angle u were going, & I agree w/ u to a point.
However, I like to think CFB teams to my former line of business, which was flipping homes. Some homes we would get in & out, minimum cost of purchase & rehab, but the return wasn’t great. There was one ambitious project that me & my guys took on; it seemed cool at first, until we found out the f’ing house was leaning & there was termite damage in the roof, & electrical that needed complete replacement. By far the most expensive flip ever, & the most timely, but it was also the biggest pay out we had ever made.
So yeah, we’re paying good money to not just rehab a program, but complete rebuild an old Victorian Home to its original features, b/c it’s been dilapidated over the years compared to other programs with the same cache. The $8m is a long term investment, not microwave results.

IMO... football is much harder to predict as compared to real-estate investments.
My friend, by nature I'm an optimist just like you... however, this forum has mostly the opposite mindset and I find myself playing the devil's advocate just for shyts and grins. I honestly believe that MC has more time to prove himself, however, incremental improvement must be part of the equation. Miami fans are cruel muthas too.
Let's Go Canes!
Riley moved OU to USC he's not the typical first year coach. Dykes SO FAR has done the most impressive job in the country.Year-1 is a foundational year, year-2 is when fans should expect significant improvement.
Still, this year has been a disappointment when you look at things holistically--especially when you see first year coaches like Riley and Dykes having the success they are in their first years at new schools.
Brother, there’s so many factors involved in a football squad, it’s crazy. Yes Mario has his work cut out and then some… but he can’t do squat without quality recruiting. Barring ***** coaching, you can’t beat the big boys without great talent… and you can’t just pull’em out of a bag. However, the lack of speed that we are seeing is puzzling... makes me think that it’s a coaching and play calling problem…. especially the defense.Oh, yeah; we used to look throughout Santa Ana, So Central L.A (which is not a real area, but that’s a different story), Garden Grove, when those homes were all trending down. The property in Fullerton was the ambitious joint; the price was decent, but it was also a sight unseen bid. The photos looked cool, but it was definitely missing some pictures. Lol. Once the contractor came out, dude….that’s all I could say, but we made a killing off that joint.
Mario had his work cut out for him, from top to bottom. It wasn’t just the on field product, but our entire infrastructure was stuck in the early 2000’s. So between an inconsistent roster that’s been 7-5 continuously, an admin who needed to step in the 2010’s, rebuilding broken relationships w/ local schools; well, there’s a reason y we’ve been the lumped w/ the TTs, UVAs, Dukes, & WASUs of the world.
We were 2-4 last yr at this time & now 3-3. A black eye loss to MTSU sullies that 3-3 mark. I didn’t think we would be 3-3 at this point, but rather 4-2. I still have us going 8-4 to close out the season, & winning a bowl game. I think this team winning 2 in a row will inspire some confidence, & we even play Clemson tough. The only caveat are these **** injuries; my goodness.

Whats your opinion on that?

My 23 yo son says after the loss to UNC “the commit recruits ain’t coming here after seeing this garbage”. We can’t afford these losses and expect to rebuild this team with elite players. This lack of speed have been existent since 2019, & that’s not a coincidence. We have a couple of guys that have a little wheels on them, but from top to bottom, we have very few guys that can blow the top off (pause.)
It’s evident af; & that’s one thing we must do, recruit athletes that are football players, again. I feel like we’ve been recruiting straight football players w/ limited athleticism.
But the talent tho, full of 4 and 5 stars (goes to show you talent alone won't take you to the top, coaching matters).Bama will lose 2 more if they keep playing like this. Their d is straight garbage.
