Alabama does this to everyone. I’m just looking at last year
52-24 Texas A&M (finished #4)
41-24 Georgia (finished #7)
48-17 Tenn
41-0 Miss St
63-3 Kentucky
42-13 Auburn
55-17 LSU
52-3 Arkansas
And then smoked Ohio St 52-24 (the same team that just beat Clemson by 3 TDs). Let’s see how the rest of this season plays out. The goal for this season was always 10+ wins and getting to the ACC title game.
No one smart has a problem with the score. We have a problem that the game plans on both sides played directly into Bama’s hands and showed no balls or creativity.
Let’s say Lashlee copied Kiffin and Bama blew it up. Ok. We tried they were just better. Let’s say we went 80% press man and actually let 2 and 8 play physically consistently. Let’s say we disguised our zones and blitzes and they still picked us apart. Oh well we tried.
We went run, run, run, punt our first series! I have said all summer we would have to pass first for any shot to run the ball. We had Scaife on an island with the best defensive player in the country. Think about that for a minute. King almost never gets a presnap read. We showed a young prodigy qb in Young defensive looks that a 2 year old could diagnose. We were out leveraged and showed Bama where to run every snap. People thought we were gonna talk that guy hitting the line with a full head of steam because he could see the hole presnap? LOL. We were much better stopping the run with proper alignment and balance across the formation. When we actually put hands on Bama’s receivers, we could run with them 95% of the time. Zero blitz in the red zone. Keontra had no shot to stop that tight end and even if he did, the other one was wide open.We would have been better off pressing and playing zone.
This ain’t the tip of the iceberg with coaching issues. People wonder why we can’t execute when all of our players are constantly put in terrible situations.
