Saleem Brightwell OLB NJ

If Michigan state wants him then we should want him.

That's a lame rationale for trying to load up on low level recruits.

First, Michigan State has an actual coaching staff that develops low level recruits. Second, if Dantonio had access to the South Florida recruits that Folden does he wouldn't be forced to load up on so many 3 stars. He takes those guys because they're all he has access to.

We used the same argument last year when Michigan State wanted Kiy Hester. And we also said "if Bill Snyder wants Beau Sandland, then that's good enough for me."

When it's obvious your crush is a total failure, who has been completely outed in the local community, make straw man arguments about crazy UM fans only wanting South Florida recruits and bust out the Ed Reed was a 3 star blabber. Then, get props from the other nerds who are still crushing on Folden.

I'd rather have the kid MachoCat has been promoting on here.

This staff is on a mission to end up with more commits from NJ/NY than Dade/Broward/Palm Beach, so there's no room for explosive savages from our own backyard like Talan.

All the hate for NJ kids on this board is getting rediculous, when you look at who we’ve gotten from the tri-state area since Golden got here in 2010:

2011 O. Pierre (NJ) - Starter
2011 D. Smith (CT) - Starter
2013 AQM (NJ) - Starter

2013 Gus (NY) – 2nd String
2013 Knighton (NJ) - Injured
2013 K. Olsen (NJ) – Gone, was a potential starter
2014 Heurtelou (NY) - Starter
2014 Badgely (NJ, walk-on) Starter
2014 D. Jenkins (NJ) – 2nd String, future starter
2014 Njoku (NJ) – Redshirt, great potential
2014 K. Hester (NJ) – gone
2015 Washington (NJ)
2015 Gordinier (NJ)

There have been 11 scholarship players signed by Golden since he got here and a handful of walk-ons. Sure 2 guys are no longer on the team (Hester, Olsen). Both were talented and worthy of a scholarship. We got 4 DT from that area, our weakest position (Pierre, Smith, Heurtelou, Jenkins), 3 have started and Jenkins will most likely be a starter before he leaves. We got Gus and AQM who have both been solid. Njoku is a great athlete with a ton of potential. Knighton got injured and may never develop but he was a good prospect. Badgley had to start as a true freshman walk-on last year when Goudis went down. So let’s see we got 5 starters out of 11 and another 3 guys who might start down the road. There is not much to complain about from this group. I don’t care where the players come from as long as they can play. Based on this track record, I would love to see more players like AQM, Jenkins, Heurtelou, Pierre and Gus. I don’t care if they are from NJ or AK.

2011 O. Pierre (NJ) -Average JAG shoulde be a backup
2011 D. Smith (CT) - Complete trash
2013 AQM (NJ) - Potential star
2013 Gus (NY) – Good backup/change of pace (may get pushed down by younger talent)
2013 Knighton (NJ) - has not contributed at all.
2013 K. Olsen (NJ) – Did nothing
2014 Heurtelou (NY) - average JAG should be a backup
2014 Badgely (NJ, walk-on) Starter
2014 C. Jenkins (NJ) – has the makings of a good NT
2014 Njoku (NJ) – too early to tell, might make some noise at TE
2014 K. Hester (NJ) – contributed nothing

thats what, 3/9 (not counting Njoku and the kicker as 1. he's a walk on, who cares where the walkons come from 2. he only played due to injury to Goudis) showing anything other than JAG potential

A wave of crystal ball predictions of Brightwell to Pitt just came in on 247, including one from Ryan Bartow.

When's that long overdue offer going to be extended to Talan? An hour before he signs his LOI to another school on NSD?

Once Berry sticks with KSU

Can we please go after Talan now like we should have in the beginning.

Al Folden gonna get left at the altar by Brightwell and Barey from out of state.

Talan should have been offered way before those two. Archer too.

If we offer them now they will flip and archer's commitment would secures Scarlett's 100% there cousin's and talan is a beast

After three years of watching Golden get played by recruits down the stretch it's obvious he has no feel for when to cut his losses and go to a plan B option. The guy is clueless and loses control of the process by not having backup plans in place and moving to them fast enough.

Looking at where we sit at this late in the game with CB's, LB's, an DT's with the options we have is mind boggling considering our current depth on defense. Understand you don't give up on guys like Scarlett to the end, but for some of these other guys you need to draw a line in the sand and move on fast. It goes back to this stubborn/arrogance streak Golden seems to carry with him in everything he does.

I like Barry a lot.... Bright well on the other hand move past him and offer archer NOW..... Has size and runs faster than most DBs while playing linebacker

Folden getting whipped by horrible programs for ****** low level recruits. Is it rock bottom for the idiots at UM yet?

Is this going to be yet another signing day when Al golden looks like he has been lied to this whole process? But I guess Donna will say " in many ways this is his first year recruiting " bla bla bla....

it's this, but also his insistence on chasing OOS guys, when kids in our backyard have similar attributes but are left begging for an offer. Am I to believe that there are no players like Barry and Brightwell in SoFla?
